Challenge Spotlight – Inspiration Challenge

Last Monday, the nation was pained when the Boston bombing occurred.  Last Wednesday, more pain came as a massive explosion in West, TX resulted in 14 fatalities and 200 injured. The world has become a crazy place and these tragedies remind us that life is precious and short. Please take a moment today to tell your family and friends how much they mean to you.

Good morning, beautiful ladies; I hope this blog finds you all well! This week I am spotlighting a challenge that is new and different every month, the inspiration challenge! This month, the inspiration challenge is hosted by Szabina of Sabee’s Creative World and I just love what she picked out to inspire us. Bold, retro patterns are everywhere lately and chevron print seems to win the race for latest design obsession! Szabina has picked chevron strips as this month’s inspiration and even has some for you to download and create with!

Freebie alert–awesome! Thanks for this challenge Szabina, I personally love chevron anything and I can’t wait to download this and create something. :) I’m a little behind the class though, because the forums ladies have jumped on this and made some outstanding layouts already. Take a look:

Ok, I really had to hold back because I just love ALL the layouts in the gallery for this challenge so far! They’re all so gorgeous–seriously. I picked these three pages so you could see how the chevron strips can be hidden in lovely clusters, used boldly to bring attention to a photo or blown up, colored and even turned into arrows–clever! There are a lot more techniques being used with these chevron stripes, so make sure you check out the inspiration challenge gallery to get some ideas on how you’ll use them. :)

Alright–it’s crunch time. You’ve only got one more week to complete your April challenges and get them posted in the April Challenge Points Tracking thread for credit. Want a free buffet piece? How about two? How about a $5 store gift certificate? Check out the rewards system to see what you need to do to get yourself a nifty prize. If you’ve got any questions about our challenges, head over to the Cookie Jar and leave us a note. :)

That’s it for this week–see y’all next week! Be safe out there. <3

Fresh Baked: April 19, 2013

Good morning! We’re over halfway through with April, and Spring and Spring-like colors are definitely the theme of the week. So many gorgeous kits by the designers. I can’t even begin to attempt to choose a favorite, but I’m sure you’ll find something that you’ll find perfect for yourself!

Speaking of wonderful designs, I picked out some, in my opinion, wonderful layouts this week. All three are using the Nature’s Delight buffet.

Beautiful layout by catgoddess. I love the clustering and the layers. The photo treatment is wonderful as well!

Wonderful hybrid by mamaape. I love hybrid projects and this one looks so realistic. I want to reach out and see if it’s just awesome shadows or really glued!

Adorable layout by Colleen. I love the circular pictures. The floating flowers just makes the layout so much  more fun and playful.

And now, on to the amazingness that are the designers here at Gingerscraps!

Sneak Peeks 4-18-13

Good Morning Ladies!  I hope everyone is doing well and having a good week.  Things here have been busy, busy busy!  We have had several celebrations and made some wonderful family memories.  I can’t wait to get my pictures uploaded and start scrapping.

Here are two layouts that are beautiful.  The first one is from a new kit from Snips and Snails Designs that is being released on Friday.  I love the chalk board  paper and the elements really pop right off the page.  It is stunning work.

The next layout I would like to share is a kit from Pixelily Designs.  It looks like it is going to be perfect for a lot of different types of layouts.  I love the banner and  the word art is really fantastic.  Another super layout :)

I love the two different kits that are being released on Friday and I am sure there will be a ton more.  Make sure you check out the store on Friday and I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week.  Thanks for stopping by!
