Challenge Spotlight – Signature Challenge

Hey ladies! Can you believe it’s already April? After this month, an entire quarter of 2013 will be over–crazy to think about!  Winter is officially over (at least in Texas where we’re already getting 80 degree sunny days) and spring has sprung.  Right now, pastels and flowers are all the rage. This week I am spotlighting the signature challenge hosted by Theresa of Simple Girl Scraps. For this month, we’re to create a seasonal forum signature with flowers. With all the beautiful spring kits we have in the store right now, this should be an easy one!

Here are some of the lovely signatures we’ve got for April so far:

I’m super in love with April’s alpha choice! I like Lisa’s grassy/floral clusters and Chris’ pretty pastel colors. All unique and perfect for spring! Make sure you stop by these ladies’ galleries & leave them some love on these outstanding siggies! 😀

This is a new month, so swing by the April Challenge Points Tracking thread and start your post so you can keep track of all the challenges you complete during the month of April. We’ve got some lovely little rewards we give out based on the number of completed challenges, so start now and go for the gold! 😉 If you’ve got any questons about this or any of the monthly challenges, stop by the Cookie Jar and let us know–someone will get back to you asap!

That’s it for this week. Don’t forget the Bake Sale is going on right now through Friday and we’ve got TONS of goodies for just $1! See y’all next week!

Challenge Spotlight – Buffet Challenge

Hello, beautiful scrapping ladies. :) I hope this blog finds you well and at the start of a great week! My spring break is over and sadly, I didn’t enough of a break to do much scrapping! If you find yourself in the same boat, now’s your last reminder to wrap up this month’s challenges! All completed challenges are due for credit on the 31st, so make sure you get those last-minute scraps done. Here’s an easy one that I always like, the buffet challenge hosted this month by Isabel of Crisdam Designs. This month’s buffet, Lucky Me, is chock full of bright greens, pretty rainbows, shamrocks and more! Definitely one of my favorites! Here are just a few of the lovely pieces our designers created this month:

Love those vibrant colors for the upcoming spring season and holidays!  I can see it used for those St. Paddy’s pictures, maybe some sunny Easter memories or any day you’re feeling especially lucky. :) There are lots of layouts for inspiration in the gallery; here are some challenge layouts I especially liked…

It was really hard just picking three layouts to highlight here this week. :) Love, love, LOVE! These are all just fabulous! Julie’s page has an extra creative use of that rainbow ellie, I really like Heidi’s polka dot background and hey–Jerusha’s green beer layout? Priceless. Super awesome job, gals!

Another gentle reminder that this is the last week in March, so make sure your completed challenge are tracked in the March Challenge Points Tracking thread. You’ll definitely want a reward come next month, right? Well, then get those challenges in! 😀

Ok, time for me to get back to work. Y’all have a great day; see you in April! :)

Challenge Spotlight – Word Art Challenge

Hey y’all! How is everyone’s week going? I am simply EXHAUSTED. This weekend just flew by with all the green festivities–so glad this week is my spring break because I am in dire need of letting my brain get some rest! I do plan on getting some scrapping done this week, too and what better place to start than with a challenge?! :)

This week I am spotlighting a fun little challenge that comes with a freebie: the word art challenge hosted by Bekah of Bekah E Designs! I really like the cute freebie WA Bekah has created for us to work with this month; take a look!

I love mixing script and block fonts when I do my own title work, the contrast is always so pretty and lends itself to all kinds of layouts, so you can safely assume I like this WA. 😉 I guess I’m not the only who likes it, because we’ve already got several pages posted in the forum using it! In need of some inspiration? Here you go…

I picked these three so you could see the different techniques that have been used with this one WA: layering in papers, flooding in colors and keeping it as-is! Of course, they’re all beautiful and coordinate perfectly!  Do you love versatile word art as much as I do? 😉 These layouts are gorgeous, ladies! Make sure you take a second to leave them some love in the gallery. :)

The month is coming to a close soon–just under two weeks and we’ll be in April…EEK! Don’t forget to get your challenges tallied up in the March Challenge Points Tracking thread. You’ll want to make sure you get credit for all your completed challenges so you can snag a nifty reward at the end of the month. :)

That’s it for me–see y’all next week! :)

Challenge Spotlight – Mini Kit Challenge

Good morning, scrappy ladies! Can you believe it’s already mid-March? Time really is flying by! It was just Christmas and now it’s Spring Break–crazy how time flies! This week I am spotlighting the mini kit challenge hosted by Rachel of Pretty in Green. The mini she’s created for us is perfect for slowing down time a bit and scrapping a life in the week. It’s called This Week and I am kind of loving the color palette; take a look:

I am really liking candy-colored, stripy kits lately and this mini is just right up my alley!  You know with an adorable mini like this, the layouts have been flying in. Here are a few of my favorites for inspiration…

Even if you just snag this mini and create a layout with it, you are eligible for a reward–sweet deal! 😀

Challenge Spotlight – Font Challenge

Well hey there, ladies! Happy Tuesday and welcome to March! Can you believe it’s already time for spring?! Seems like it was just Christmas and here comes St. Patrick’s Day and Easter! Sheesh. It was a bit chilly this weekend so I spent some time in scrapping. This week I am spotlighting one of my favorite challenges we do here at GingerScraps, the font challenge! This month is it hosted by Ivonne of Craft-tastrophic Designs and she has really picked an adorable font:

I love cursive fonts and this one flows so beautifully. The font challenge is always a favorite of mine because it lends itself to all kinds of creativity without restraining too much. In other words–it’s easy! 😉 Here’s some inspiration for you!

Okay okay, yes–I spotlighted myself here BUT come on–look at that pout! 😀 I love Kristen’s ornate clustering, I wish I could cluster like that! Victoria’s layout has a beautiful vintage feel and the font is just spot on. And of course, I love that cute little girl in the last layout! 😉

So, it’s a brand new month and that means another chance to snag some really great rewards: one buffet item, two buffet items or a snazzy $5 store gift certificate! Everyone who plays along in our challenge wins something, so go start your tracking thread now in the March challenge points tracking thread! I think my goal this month will be two buffet items, but I know some ladies will be going for gold! :)

Okie doke gals, I’m off! Y’all have a fantastic week!

Challenge Spotlight – Template Challenge #2

Hey out there in digiland, how is everyone this blustery and chilly Tuesday morning? We’re having a typical Texas weather week: 70 and sunny one day,  40 and wintery the next–no joke. Now that winter has made a comeback and it’s f-f-f-reezing outside, I’m staying in and scrapping! For this last week in February (whaaat?!), I am spotlighting another challenge with a freebie: the second template challenge hosted by Bekah of Bekah E Designs! She has come up with a simple but snazzy little template that I think you’ll Like. Take a look!

I like all the room for journaling and a nice big title! I usually gab a bunch here, but I want to get straight to the layouts completed by the ladies in the forum because they are simply outstanding this week!

By Kathryn

By sparkysgirl

Ok, where do I even start?! First, I wouldn’t even automatically assume these are all from the same template! While we can pluck out some similarities, they are all so unique and beautiful! I pretty much love everything Michelle does,  but that little picture peeking out the bottom corner is just plain adorable. Kathryn’s layout immediately struck my eye because of the glittery background that almost looks like a dimensional cut-out overlay. Lisa always does gorgeous cluster work and this page is no exception! Absolutely fabulous pages ladies, I love them all! :)

Don’t forget this is THE LAST WEEK of February and there’s only two more days left in the month after today! It’s a short one and all your challenge layouts need to be completed and tallied in the February Challenge Points Tracking thread by the end of the day on the 28th.  You can get yourself some nifty rewards to start March out with, so get those layouts in, girls!  If you need more info or have any questions about this or any of our monthly challenges, head over to the Cookie Jar and leave us a message. :)

That’s it for me for this week…and this month. Eek! See y’all in March! :)

Challenge Spotlight – Mini Kit Challenge

Good morning, gals! I am going to jump right in! This week I will be spotlighting the mini kit challenge hosted by Jennifer of Luv Ewe Designs!  Jennifer has created a lovely little mini for our challenge participants; take a look!

I just adore the coral-ish pinks and the minty green here, something a little different from all the hot pink and bright red we’ve been inundated with this month!  Of course with a freebie mini this cute, the layouts are pouring in. Take a look at a few of my favorite submissions so far for some inspiration…

All lovely layouts! I love the vintage, faded feel of Julie’s page, that cool torn paper block on Jeannie’s layout and the cool heart cutouts on Wanda’s creation! These are all seriously awesome layouts and I like how everyone was able to change up the mini so much it’s almost as versatile as a full-sized kit. Pretty neat!  :)

This is a short month so remember to get your challenges completed and tallied up in the February Challenge Points Tracking thread before the month is up.  There’s all kinds of great goodies waiting for you as rewards when you play along with us and keep track! :) As always, if you have any questions about this or any of our monthly challenges, you can head over to the Cookie Jar and ask away! We’ll get back to you asap.

That’s it for this week; see y’all next Tuesday!  :)

Really cute, Rebecca! I’m always a sucker for paper stacks, so you know I love this template! I’ve got big plans for this template…  😉  Of course, the layouts are already pouring into the gallery and forum. Awesome layouts! If you notice, I also picked three pages where the template had been modified. Whether by adding a photo, taking one away or using as-is, this template is pretty versatile and I’m loving how everyone is using it for all different scrapping occasions. If you like these layouts as much as I do, drop by the gallery and leave them some love! :)

Now that you’re sufficiently inspired, run and go scrap! Again, the first template challenge is only through the 15th, so don’t delay in getting this one done and tallied in the February 2013 Challenge Points Tracking thread! I’m off for now to go study some for my test and shouldn’t you be scrapping? 😉 See y’all next week!

Challenge Spotlight – Daily Download Challenge

Well, hello there! How is everyone this lovely Tuesday? Hopefully my northern friends are keeping warm and my fellow southerners…have y’all put the A/C on yet in this 70+ weather?  😀  The new semester is already in full swing for me and I think I’ll be even busier this go ’round–sheesh! I do plan on getting some scrapping in, though, and what better place to start than one of our fabulous monthly challenges!  😉  This week I am spotlighting the daily download challenge hosted by the talented Isabel of Crisdam Designs!  Last month’s daily download kit was a wonderful wintery kit from Connie Prince, perfect for scrapping all your snowy photos! Yes, we Texans even had a white Christmas!  😀  Take a look at the kit:

If you missed downloading the kit last month, you can buy it right now in the store and still play along with this challenge. (And don’t miss out on this month’s, ladies!) All you have to do is scrap a page using the daily download kit–easy! Need inspiration? Check out some of the layouts already completed in the gallery…

Love all the beautiful, wintery layouts! It’s obvious my Texas white Christmas wasn’t very impressive after seeing these three layouts, but hey–they’ve definitely inspired me to scrap some of my little snow flurry pics! 😉 Now it’s your turn to show us what you’ve got! Scrap a layout using last month’s daily download kit and post it in the challenge thread!

Everyone who completes at least ONE (just one!) monthly challenge gets a reward at the end of the month! You can win one buffet piece of your choice, two buffet pieces or a shiny $5 store gift certificate–woohoo! All you have to do is check out all the challenges (some have freebies–double win!), participate in them, post your layouts and tally your completed challenges in the February Challenge Points Tracking thread. Again–easy!

Alright ladies, I’m off to get some studying done. Y’all have a wonderful week and I’ll see everyone back here next Tuesday for another challenge spotlight! :)

Challenge Spotlight – Template Challenge #2

Happy Tuesday, all! I’m so excited because today is the first day of school! *squee* I’m so excited about the sociology classes I’m taking this semester and ready for things to get underway. :) Speaking of excitement, I’m really excited about my spotlight for today because I’ve completed the challenge and I loved it! This week I am spotlighting the second template challenge hosted by Jen of Jen C Designs! It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Jen’s templates and I love the freebie she’s created for this challenge. It’s a simple template, but it’s just perfect; take a look!

Cute, right?!  Like I said, so simple but so perfect. Truth: I’m always a sucker for paper stacks. :) Thanks for the awesome template, Jen! Of course with a template this great, the layouts are pouring in over in the challenge thread. There are lots of good ones, but I’ve picked out three pages to get your creative juices flowing…

Awesome creations, gals! Here we have three totally different layouts using the same exact template. One held the same as the designer made it, one with less photos and one with way more…and all excellent pages! :)

That means this month’s challenges are coming to a close! If you haven’t started your post in the January 2013 Challenge Tracking thread…what are you waiting for, silly?! You want a reward don’t you? I know I do–I’m a digiscrap hoarder for sure. Post and start tallying up your completed challenges for January so you can start out next month with a shiny new prize from the GingerScraps shop! 😀
