Then I saw a layout in the gallery that set off bells. The photos the layout was built around had that dipped-in-caramel-latte look that lends itself to so many palettes and styles, and I&#8217;ve been wanting to know how the scrapper gets that effect for a long time. I&#8217;m going to show you how, right now! It has two options, colour and black-and-white. For most intents and purposes though, a single click is all that&#8217;s needed. [You can see it in the menu images above.] I decided to see what else I could do with my photo so I clicked on <strong>In Expert<\/strong> to take me to the interface we&#8217;re all so familiar with. Had I been pleased with it as is, I could have <strong>Save<\/strong>d it or <strong>Save<\/strong>d it <strong>As<\/strong> and then renamed it. If I&#8217;d clicked on the <strong>Done<\/strong> button, the adjusted photo would appear in the <strong>Photo Bin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-23228\" src=\"https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/10-3-500x292.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"292\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/10-3-500x292.jpg 500w, https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/10-3-768x449.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/10-3-875x511.jpg 875w, https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/10-3.jpg 1637w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Expert<\/strong> mode shows the different layers the <strong>High Key<\/strong> script created. Each of those layers can be adjusted, turned on or off, <strong>Blend Mode<\/strong> changed, <strong>Opacity<\/strong> tweaked&#8230; whatever you like. In the example below I turned one of the layers (brightness) off and lowered the <strong>Opacity<\/strong> of the background copy layer to<strong> 40%<\/strong>. All layers are visible except the <strong>Brightness<\/strong> layer in this screenshot, with the <strong>opacity<\/strong> of the top layer (gradient mask) at <strong>50%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-23233\" src=\"https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/15-2-500x248.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/15-2-500x248.jpg 500w, https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/15-2-768x381.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/15-2-875x434.jpg 875w, https:\/\/gingerscraps.net\/gsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/15-2.jpg 1630w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I turned visibility for the <strong>Brightness<\/strong> layer back on then decreased the <strong>Opacity<\/strong> to <strong>35%<\/strong> and the image no longer has that hint of colour. If you haven&#8217;t played with <strong>Levels<\/strong> I HIGHLY recommend it!
