How did January just fly by? 8.5% of 2021 is already in the rearview mirror. I thought retirement was supposed to slow life down. I think I want my money back!<\/p>\n

This month’s Designer Spotlight<\/strong> is shining on the creative sister-duo Scraps N Pieces<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, Lori<\/strong> and Heidi<\/strong>. I had a chance to chat with them and get to know them a little better. Now I’m going to share what I’ve learned.<\/p>\n

Jan<\/strong>: How long have you been designing?<\/p>\n

Lori<\/strong>: 12 years in May<\/p>\n

Jan<\/strong>: So a long time, in scrapper terms! What made you decide to design?<\/p>\n

Heidi<\/strong>: Traditional scrapbooking was getting too expensive and it is something we can do as sisters even though we don’t live close to each other.<\/p>\n

Jan<\/strong>: I know exactly what you mean, both about the expense and the distance. My sisters and I drink wine together in our respective living rooms. Now, what is your favorite kit currently in your GS<\/strong> store and why?<\/p>\n

Heidi<\/strong>: Sweet Magnolia<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Lori<\/strong>: Humble and Kind<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Jan<\/strong>: Ooh, I can see why! I’d have trouble choosing one over the other. Please tell me about your perfect vacation.<\/p>\n

Heidi<\/strong>:\u00a0 I’d travel to Europe to see the old castles and sites.<\/p>\n

Jan<\/strong>: That sounds like a long trip! I’ve been to Ireland and would love to see England, Scotland and France. Castles and heritage sites are so engaging. Do you have a green thumb? What do you grow?<\/p>\n

Lori<\/strong>: Yes, we have a huge garden and I like to try new things each year.\u00a0 This year we tried butternut squash and cantaloupe along with the regular stuff.<\/p>\n

Jan<\/strong>: I never lived anywhere warm enough to grow good melons before and now that I do, I don’t have room. But I’m building a perennial pollinator garden. But speaking of food… If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?<\/p>\n

Heidi<\/strong>: Burgers and fries<\/p>\n

Lori<\/strong>: Mexican food<\/p>\n

Jan<\/strong>: Mmm, I love a good burger! And tacos. My hubby just likes to eat. And he’s a gamer, so what is your favorite game to play?<\/p>\n

Heidi<\/strong>: Codenames<\/p>\n

Lori<\/strong>: Quacks of Quidlenburg – we are both game board lovers<\/p>\n

Jan<\/strong>: I’ve never heard of either of them. I’ll have to check them out! Cards? What is your favorite card game to play?<\/div>\n

Jan<\/strong>: More games I’m not familiar with. I must be really out-of-touch! What did you want to be when you were small?<\/div>\n
