Weekly Wrap-up: May 13, 2012

Shh!! Don’t tell Ginger. This is late. Just a little. I have an excuse: MY DAUGHTER BRIDGED yesterday!! In Girl Scouts, you have levels. Each level, in the beginning, is about two grades. Daisies: K-1, Brownies: 2-3, Juniors: 4-5. In our troop, it’s 4-6, because we’re a K-6 school, are the Juniors. My daughter will be in 4th grade this next school year. So, she bridged to a Junior Surprised smile No. I am not READY to be the mother of a Junior.

SPEAKING of Mothers: I want to wish a happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there. We don’t care if you’re the mother of a puppy or a child. We’re all mothers!

Want a kit that’ll be perfect for scrapping something showing off your motherhood? You should really check out this month’s buffet: A Match Made in Heaven! It is just absolutely perfect!!

Not convinced? You should check out some of the layouts (including a hybrid!) that are popping up in the gallery using it!

Now, I’m not sure about you but I’m ready to go back out into the world and spend some time with my family! Make sure you let us know how you’re spending/spent your Mother’s Day! We’d love to hear about it!!

See you again next week. I promise to be on time then!!

Weekly Wrap-Up: May 06, 2012

Oh wow! It’s the end of the weekend already. What an insanely busy weekend it’s been, too!!

That sale! Wow! Amazing. When I heard the ladies were going to be doing this, I was just in awe! They’re so giving! 😀

Photobucket

See! You still have a chance to take part in some! Maybe we’ll see each other!

Would you like to see some of the prizes you can earn over the weekend…

Check the forum for all the details- https://forums.gingerscraps.net/forumdisplay.php?678-National-Scrapbooking-Day!!-Let-s-Celebrate!!

I seriously want both the template package and the kit. I wants it now 😀 😉 Come on, admit it, you do too!! <3

Did you take advantage of the bake sale too? So many designers had some amazing stuff in there! I know Psychozoe Designs had all of her buffet items listed for $1!

An new buffet was also released: A Match Made in Heaven! It’s so cute and adorable. Perfect for the mother in your life, or even the baby/pet that you adore! I even caught a layout using a bus in similar colors! So many ways to use it!

You know what, though? If I had to choose a favorite kit  of what’s come out this week, I so couldn’t do it. Just could not do it at all! I just know that while that 50% sale is going on, you should really check it all out! Remember, if you spend $10, you get this awesome grab bag by Pretty in Green for free!!

Well, I think that’s about it. I’m off. I’m actually camping with my daughter this weekend, and I know the perfect kit that I’ll be using for that! Connie Prince has this kit called Scouting is Fun. I prefer the bundle, because it has both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I have a Brownie, who will be bridging to a Junior next weekend; I have a Tiger Cub who’ll be a Wolf soon, as well. So, this kit is perfect. Another good choice, I think, is The Power of YOUth collab between Pretty in Green and Kathy Winters. It’s more 4H, but it would work for Girl Scouts at least. Same principles basically.

Okay, that’s enough from me! I’d love to hear from you what kits are your favorite!!

Weekly Wrap-up: April 29, 2012

Oh holy … wow. Is it really 2 days until April is over? :O

A week from now, we’ll be nearing the end of NSD. Did you know that Gingerscraps has a whole lot of stuff planned?

Oh wow. Right? I know! I’m excited. I’ll be there Friday, and a chunk of Sunday, if I don’t die. I’m going Girl Scouting with my daughter’s troop 😀

Now, on to the haps here at Gingerscraps:

  • Barb asked “What’s Stressing you?”. The biggest common one is money, it seems. Everyone’s worried about it. I hate seeing friends and ones I care about stressing. 🙁
  • Wendy claims her daughter is a brat, but in a good way. She commented that she wanted more pictures and journaling. The topic went off a little from the original idea with how to get kids to give good faces and the like for layouts. Pictures are included, hehe

Even though it’s close to the end of the month, there’s still a chance to do a challenge or two! Earn some points towards some kits and things!

Other news: Mystery Designer has ended. It was a lot of work behind the scenes, and Shannon was just so much better at having all of that under control!

This week, the forum was full of chatter. There were several new topics started, nearly every day. I loved it! I love seeing our forum getting active!!

I hope we see you for NSD starting on Friday!!

Weekly Wrap-Up: April 22, 2012

Well, goodness! It’s the end of the weekend already! Where did it go? This is starting to not be fair! Weekends need to be longer. Who’s with me? I demand longer weekends!!

Okay, I’m only sort of serious. I’m a stay-at-home-parent, so I don’t even get weekends, LOL, unless you count the times the kids are at school. Then, though, I’m doing all my adminly duties for Gingerscraps 😀

So, how’s your weekend been so far? How about your April? 2012, thus far?

Well, let’s jump into the stuff:

Trina got a new puppy 😀

Isn’t it so cute?

What would you suggest to a beginning digi-scrapper, minus having an editing program? There are some really good suggestions, but it never hurts to hear some more!

April is demanding, and yes, I mean demanding, to be interviewed. She interviews all our amazing designers and members, so now she’s gonna find out what it’s like. Go ask!!

Did you make it to last night’s speed scrap? If so, you might have noticed that the Gingerbread Man came out to play! I don’t know what goodies he shared, but maybe someone will share 😀

Once again, it’s been a bit of a quiet week. It’ll hopefully pick up soon! If not, that’s okay. We’re happy with our current activity level, but we’re always open to more!!

See ya next week with more goodies and news!

Weekly Wrap-up – April 15th

Hiya! Sarah here again! How ya doin’? Hopefully everyone in the Midwest made it through the storms safely. If you did, make sure you let the forum know! We really do care about our members and want to make sure everyone is safe!!

Speaking about our members, I have some big news that will have a small impact on your life, if you’re part of the forum: Ginger has promoted two members to managers! :O Yes, I’m that Sarah :O No, I wasn’t surprised. I’d picked up some extra duties when I took on the role of Ad Team lead, but wow. Now I have a truly vested interest in the store, the forum, the blog.

So, newsletters and the big written stuff? That’s going to be done by me. Oh yeah, you’re truly stuck with me now.

Now onto some other news.

Oh yes, sadly, our normal Friday night speed scrap had to be cancelled. 🙁 Terra, from all of us here at GingerScraps, we hope for a speedy and safe recovery for your mom. Remember that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

Pretty in Green also posted a freebie on her blog! Did you see it?

JillW gave us an update that we all already knew, but we love to hear anyways: GingerScraps rocks!! I’ve been with GS almost since Day #1, and wow. It’s like family 😀

It’s been a bit of a quiet week. Well, on the surface. Trust me, there’s more going on behind the scenes (did I mention I finally get to see it all too :D). More information, I promise, on some BIG stuff is coming soon!!

Bye for now!! See ya next week!! Or maybe sooner 😉

Weekly Wrap Up–April 07

Hi!! Hi!! Hi!! Sarah here! Oh, wait, you knew that, right? *hee hee*

First off, Happy Easter if you celebrate it. We celebrate the Bunny version in our family 😀 However or whatever you celebrate, I hope you enjoy your time with your family, friends, loved ones.

So, what’s been happening in your neck of the woods? Here, we’ve had summer temps and we’ve had spring temps. I think it was even discussed some of the forum.

*runs to look*

Hot dog, I was right!! StarWarsFan, a fellow Kansan, mentioned it!!

Kansas reminds me of another topic discussed in the forum!! Our intrepid Shannon might be moving to Kansas!! To my neck of the woods!! 😀 I think we should engineer a meet-up if she does 😛

Speaking of moving, catgoddess might be moving to Florida! Another place I have lived. 😀

If you’re an Android user, you might have found out that Instagram is now available for Android users (2.2.2 versions and up, I do believe). Personally, I’m thrilled to DEATH that it’s available. 😀

Oh yeah, I got a little into it. 😀

Speaking of cameras and pictures, Tree City bought a new one and had some issues. Poor thing!

BUT! To end the sad news, Trina had some GREAT news to share with us: BABY #4!!

There is no other real big news to be shared that hasn’t been shared already. Scary right!?!

BUT! If you think you’d make a good part of the ad team, we are looking for a few new people!

Weekly Wrap Up – April Fool’s Edition

*runs in and skids to a stop*
*flails wildly as new shoes stick onto the floor but the body keeps moving*

Oh hi!! Sorry, I’m little frantic today. I had this big idea to do a practical joke on y’all but you know what? I can’t.

I can’t be mean like that. I mean, who’d believe me if I told you that we had a new guest designer.

That there’s an awesome new buffet out.

That new jobs have been given out.

Oh, wait, that has happened :O

I’m the Team Lead for the Ad team. Oh holy something or other. That means, if the daily downloads are late, blame me. If something needs to be shared, contact me. Ach! What to do. I’m SO honored that Shannon asked me to do this so very important job. HOPEFULLY no one caught my mistake yesterday where I accidentally posted a post too early, 😆 I think I caught it in time, and made some changes to the permalink, so HOPEFULLY no one got it too soon 😀

So, that’s that news. 😀

Weekly Wrap-up: March 25, 2012

Um, okay, HI! Sarah here. I’m a little discombobulated. When the HECK did it become Sunday? Where did the week go? It fly by for anyone else? I think it flew by for us, here, because it was SPRING BREAK!!

Oh, and taking advantage of this AMAZING sale!!

Seriously! Go check it out! LOTS of awesome items. I almost cried when I saw a few things that were being cleaned out soon :’(

Whatcha getting?

Yes, I’m going to talk about this again! Remember, there’s a chat on Saturday!! 😀 I’m going to be participating for a bit, and then I’m gonna have to run for Girl Scouts. Our last official meeting until we have our Banquet. Minus camping and a troop trip.

Anyways, speaking of the chat, which brings up the forum, let’s go be nosy and see what big discussions are going on!

Do you know anything about online backup? HarmonyStar would really like your input on the best. She wants to be able to back-up her .zip & .exe files. Any suggestions?

As you know, book club is about the Hunger Games for March. So, the movie’s been officially released. Did you see it? Have plans? Share with us!

Okay, enough of that. Honestly, the gals really like to pull up the old threads, so there wasn’t a whole bunch of new, unless you count ones I did, and well, I feel weird pimping out my own threads, 😀 Anyone else feel like that?

Holy crap! I’m full of questions!! I’m going to just move on to Facebook! You did know Gingerscraps has a Facebook, right? You should check it out!! Why? Here! I’ll tell you why!!

Twin Mom Scraps has a freebie linked up. Pretty sweet right!

You can take a guess on the Mystery Designer! Who do you think created the template.

There I go asking those questions again! :O Man, what is up with that? Okay, shutting up now, before Shannon pulls the plug on my blogging gig!!

I hope you enjoyed the post, and found out something you hadn’t know that had happened the past week! See ya again next week!!

Weekly Wrap-up

Sarah here! How’d your week go? Mine was nuts and insane. I’m part of my local girl scout troop and they adore putting me to work. In case you didn’t know, this year marks the 100-year-anniversary of Girl Scouts. Can you imagine? 100 years? So, they’re hosting a week-long event in Washington, DC. Four out of eight of the juniors in our troop are going. $4000 for them to go (including their parents), and that’s with hiring a charter bus. :O CRAZY. So, we’re hosting fundraisers and the like. I’ve been helping.

Anyways, there’s a point to that tangent. I figured, since I’ve been doing SO much with Girl Scouts (and NOW Boy Scouts because of  my son), I’d share one of my go-to products, created by our own Connie Prince.

Perfect, right? I use it SO often. Well, okay, now onto the news around Gingerscraps!!

Discussions of the Hunger Games have started!! There are separate threads for Books 2 & 3 (Girl on Fire & Mockingjay), so you won’t get spoiled if you haven’t read Books 2 & 3. Come join us!! Give us your opinion on the books, the characters, the author. All that good stuff!!

ChristinaP wants to know if anyone is watching Survivor. I’m not personally, but if you are, join in with the chat. 😀

ChristinaP also found a thread on another Facebook saying “Digi isn’t real“. Several members really didn’t like hearing (well, reading that). What’s your opinion? What do you think of Digi? Hopefully if you’re reading this, you believe it’s real, and a lot of fun!!

It’s been a pretty quiet week all around. Now, it’s WAY late for me (lost an hour to Daylight Savings Time!! Did you?), and I’m hungry, so I’m going to just say “Ciao” and see you next week!!

Weekly Wrap Up

What does a busted phone and a sad Snickerdoodle have in common? Not much, actually. Just a little jealousy on my part that my husband got a new phone. He got an HTC Inspire. BIG upgrade from a basic texting dumphone (Samsung Impression). I had to resist adding the Gingerscraps app to it.

What? You didn’t know that Gingerscraps has an Android app? Well, they do!! They have one for the iPhone (or other such devices) and for Windows 7 phones!

Sweet, right? Reminds me that I need to get onto someone about updating this ad! Windows 7 is available!

Other news? What? Really? You still want to hear me?

Oh geeze! I’m turning into Shannon! *hides*

On the Facebook page, Jacque wonders what everyone did on Monday. Personally, I was in bed. Sinuses. Blech! Anyone else abhor them?

On the forum, Jen, of Jen Yurko Designs, asked which app to use: Forum Runner or Tapatalk for her Droid. As a future owner of an Android (I’m getting the same one as my husband Open-mouthed smile). Looks like BOTH are getting good reviews. For Windows users: I suggest Board Express.

Speaking of Android apps, I posted, looking for the BEST apps for Android. I’m an app girl. I like to make everything all me and personal. I can do that with apps!!

Now, it’s March. Yeah, it’s March already. Where did February go?

How did you do with the challenges? Yeah, I didn’t do too well. Goal for March for me personally is to do at least four of them!!

One I’m definitely trying is the Technique Challenge. Selective coloring, basically, is what you’re learning. Plus, there’s an ADORABLE kitty in the thread!! I swear I heard it purr at me!

Another one I’m going to attempt to do is the FONT CHALLENGE!!

Considering a certain popular show on ABC, this font is PERFECT for that. Anything related to reading or something! Hey, you could use the new BUFFET on it!! The Reading Room!

I can’t wait to see what you do!!

March’s book is The Hunger Games!! Join us for discussions starting March 07, and an unscheduled at the moment chat at the end of the month!

Before I forget!!

You still have a day or so!! Go check it out!!

Well, I think that’s about it!! If you have anything you think should be brought forth for a weekly round-up on Gingerscraps, give me a holler on Gingerscraps (I’m Sarah on there)! I’ll see what I can do!!
