The Dish

Hey everyone.  Tabby here with this weeks serving of The Dish.  We had a lot of fun questions asked and I’ll do my best to give you some great answers!

First up from Julie.  She wanted to know what are some ideas to keep the kiddos busy during these summer months.  Well something we like to do is pack a picnic lunch and head off to the park for a bit.  It gets us out of the house and is some cheap entertainment for a few hours.  It gets the kids good and tired too!

Another fun idea is to visit a farm!  We have one close to use that we go and let the kids pick their own strawberries.  That’s always a hit with my three.

Do you have a local moms group in your area?  I’m sure they’d be a great resource for some inexpensive fun.

Julie also wanted to know the scoop on low carb dieting but since that’s Teri’s area of specialty I’ll let her pipe in with some tips on that!

Colleen wanted to know “What’s your favorite recipe to make? It can be a meal or a dessert.”

Currently my favorite meal to make is a Bisquick Chicken Pot Pie.  It’s easy to whip up and everybody loves it!  Here’s the recipe straight off the box if you’d like to give it a try.  My guys ask me to make this once a week.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups frozen veggies, thawed
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, or 1 can chicken
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup Bisquick
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix veggies, chicken and soup in a glass pie plate. In a separate bowl, mix the Bisquick, milk and egg. Pour batter on veggie mixture. Bake for 30 minutes.

Number of Servings: 4

If you try it I’d love to hear what you think.

Have a great week and happy scrappin!
