Challenge Spotlight – Template Challenge #1

Have you recovered from NSD yet?? Has your pocketbook? I didn’t go as crazy shopping as some of my fellow scrappers did (you know who you are!), but I did buy a bunch of kits I’ve had my eye on for a while and I’m ready to put them to good use! Here’s a way to get scrapping with all those treasures you picked up over the weekend and add another freebie to your stash: the first May template challenge hosted by Inspired Designs!

This month’s first template is really cool; take a look!

I really love the mix of square and circle photograph shapes with the mini clusters. This template will definitely make for some eye-catching LOs! Need some inspiration from the fabulous scrappers of the forum? Here you go!

You’ve got all month to get this one in to count towards your challenge points, but it’s such a nifty template, I’d grab it now if I were you! (As a matter of fact, I should go finish my LO with this one right now!)

Don’t forget to grab a spot May Challenge Points Tracking thread so you can tally up all your points and start working your way towards a discount coupon or gift certificate! Oh wow! It’s the end of the weekend already. What an insanely busy weekend it’s been, too!!

Did you take advantage of the bake sale too? So many designers had some amazing stuff in there! I know Psychozoe Designs had all of her buffet items listed for $1!

An new buffet was also released: A Match Made in Heaven! It’s so cute and adorable. Perfect for the mother in your life, or even the baby/pet that you adore! I even caught a layout using a bus in similar colors! So many ways to use it!

You know what, though? If I had to choose a favorite kit of what’s come out this week, I so couldn’t do it. Just could not do it at all! I just know that while that 50% sale is going on, you should really check it all out! Remember, if you spend $10, you get this awesome grab bag by Pretty in Green for free!!

Well, I think that’s about it. I’m off. I’m actually camping with my daughter this weekend, and I know the perfect kit that I’ll be using for that! Connie Prince has this kit called Scouting is Fun. I prefer the bundle, because it has both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I have a Brownie, who will be bridging to a Junior next weekend; I have a Tiger Cub who’ll be a Wolf soon, as well. So, this kit is perfect. Another good choice, I think, is The Power of YOUth collab between Pretty in Green and Kathy Winters. It’s more 4H, but it would work for Girl Scouts at least. Same principles basically.

Okay, that’s enough from me! I’d love to hear from you what kits are your favorite!!

NSD Madness!! And Fresh Baked: May 04, 2012

Hi! Hello! Good morning (afternoon, evening, depending on where you are on the globe)! I’m super duper excited right now! Can you guess why? Can you, really? That’s right! Fresh Baked! NSD! Amazing sales! Speed scraps! Chats! Some much excitement, I can hardly contain myself!!

Ginger wanted to give you a few of the details, so I will pass the keyboard to her now…..

“It’s National Scrapbooking Day, but one day just is not enough… so we have a weekend jam packed full of fun, HUGE sales, Games, Challenges, and Chats!
Of course we also have fabulous prizes and goodies being passed out all weekend long!
In the NSD sub-forum you will find our special NSD challenges/ games.

We have a Scavenger Hunt hosted by the lovely Rachel (designer Pretty in Green).
Be sure to stop by the Gallery Post-A-Thon, our very own Night Owl Chatter, Terra (designer Sugar Kissed) will be hosting this fun game.
Ever wonder what our GS designers looked like when they were just little tiny ones? Well sweet miss Laura Marie (designer LauraMarie Scraps) has collected many of the GS designers baby and childhood photos. Guess Who??… by matching the babies to the designers!

In addition we have TONS of Chats and Speed Scraps throughout the weekend!
Speed Scraps will all be in the regular Speed Scrap area of the forum HERE.
And pop into the chat room to enjoy chatting with some of your favorite designers, and the GS community! If you like to play Bingo– I will be hosting 2 games of digi bingo! Friday @8pm EST and Saturday @4pm EST
And on Saturday night @10pm EST… Terra and I will be co-hosting a game of Truth or Dare! It will have you laughing out loud, your family will think you have gone crazy. You will be cracking up and behaving very oddly. Beware, we might even dare you to take a pic of your laundry room, and post it for us all to see!
