Project 52: Inspiration

Hello and welcome to a new blogging series! I’ve noticed in the forum that so many scrappers want to do a version of Project 52, whether it involves daily photographs, a weekly theme, or picking one big moment of the year!

At Gingerscraps, you’re able to earn up to 4 (FOUR!) challenge points a month (full explanation available here in the Gingerscraps forum). If you have any questions relating to that, please ask there. Thank you!

This series, which will be posted each Wednesday, will focus on different aspects of the challenge. Today, for example, will be focus on some inspiration!

Next week, the plan is to show off some of the cover designs that scrappers have currently shared.

So, let’s get to the Inspiration!

The hardest part, I’ve found, with starting this project is WHERE to start. What do I take pictures of? Is this too boring? Too basic?

I’m pretty well known at Gingerscraps as the one who’ll even take pictures of the washing machine filling up, so I will take pictures of ANYTHING.

I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t matter what you take pictures of! Just take those pictures. Get into the action and take lots of pictures. Even if you never use them, you’ll treasure those memories, I promise.

One scrapper shared this great video on planning your approach. It’s more for paper, but modifications can easily be made for doing it digitally!

Laura shared a great idea on how to keep organized, because that is another big issue (I know I have that problem too):

I also download my photos into monthly folders on my computer and when I need to find a photo I just click on Day in that folder and it sorts the photos by the day that I need.

WONDERFUL idea!

A few scrappers shared some great apps, and I’ll focus on those later on, I promise. I don’t know much about IOS, but I know a lot of y’all use it, and we’ll work on getting some information that way. I’m an Android girl, and I can answer most questions about that.

One scrapper, lynnw, already has her first week done, and it looks wonderful!

She’s doing them in 2-page format, and that’s actually the route I’m going to follow (it still only counts as 1-point per week, in case you’re curious on that). You can do a single-page per week, a double-page, whatever you want! That’s the beauty of the Project 52 series!

Love this idea of helping us focus on our Project52! I’m all for this and thanks for the inspiration!

  2. I did a 365 in 2010 and we loved it. Other years (before and after) are with a double spread per month, with extra pages for special events etc. Since this is 5 years since the last 365 I’m doing another daily! Glad to be on board 🙂

    Thank you!

  4. I’d also be interested in venues that print (book format) reasonably priced in order to share with family.

  5. Thanks for this blog! I really want to be successful with this project this year and not what till it is overwhelming at the end of the year. I have bought some physical product for this project so I will be doing some of that plus digital.
