I’m really sorry to report that I took a tumble down a flight of stairs last night and this week’s tutorial was a casualty. I hit the side of my head on a sharp corner on a ledge as I was falling and concussed myself a little. I also sprained a wrist and two fingers. No broken bones, lucky for me, but half my face is technicolour all around the laceration the corner left. Hubby said, “Nice shiner!” when I got up this morning. I should be back to normal in a few days and next week’s tutorial won’t disappoint!
Jan
feel better and heal quickley!
I hope that you heal quickly. Take care of you first.
Oh my !!! You are so lucky that you didn’t hurt yourself worse.
Take care and get better soon đŸ™‚
Thank you for your kind words. Now that the swelling is starting to go down in my upper arm, there’s less pain. Face is still pretty sore – chewing is bad! (Maybe my new weight-loss plan?)
Bon rétablissement !
Get well soon. I’m looking forward to see you back “at work” but your health is way more important.
I hope you heal quickly hun, and feel better soon.
OMG! Take care of yourself in healing – the tutorial can wait.
Oh my gosh, Jan, this is my worst nightmare! Falling down those stairs frightens me. You must pamper yourself and rest so that your body can heal quickly! Love and prayers to you.
You must be in pain; time for some TLC, aspirin and a cuppa tea!
Oh no! I hope you’re back to yourself in no time.
Hope you are feeling better soon. Take care of yourself!
Hope you feel better soon. Rest is good.
Oh my, take care of yourself and feel better soon! I recently fell over one of my little caramel colored dogs who blends with the den carpeting. It was horrible spill which affected many of my body parts; but, like you, nothing broken so very lucky! We have to slow down a bit!
Wow…so glad it wasn’t more serious. Heal well. Thanks for all you do! Now take care of yourself!
Oh dear!! So glad to hear that nothing broke … but how scary that must have been!! I fell down the stairs years ago (when I was a young mother; carrying a basket of dirty laundry). Nothing broken, but I was shaken up. Now I’m always watching my step on those stairs. So take care of yourself, Jan!! Let yourself heal!
Oh, no! Take your time and heal on your schedule, not anyone else’s.
I am so sorry to hear that. Take care and heal quickly.
Oh no my dear, please take care first of you, take off as much time as you need, health first!.
Sending tons of love and wishing a speedy recovery. Take care my dear
So sorry to hear that you fell. Glad it wasn’t more serious. Take time to heal as long as you need. We’ll still be here.Â
The pain is gradually lessening, thanks. I’ll take part of your advice, the rest and the tea. But no aspirin for anyone with a head injury… aspirin can make bleeding worse.
One of my slippers came off as I was going down to the landing to get some kibble for the dogs and like with your fall, both my hands were full – with dog dishes. I lost my balance and knew I was not going to stop myself. I let out an expletive as I was going down. The only good thing was that our son’s stair lift was at the bottom and not the top. My injuries would have been much worse. As it is, I went more or less head first and slammed the side of my head just in front of my left ear against the corner of a ledge as I fell. I still have som residual ringing in that ear. And chewing is still bad.
I sincerely thank all of you for your kind thoughts. I truly wasn’t looking for sympathy, I just wanted y’all to know why there was no tut. Once the headache goes away I expect to back to my old tricks, but concentrating for any length of time right now hurts. I’ll sip my tea, cuddle with my dogs (who have been amazing little nurses to me) and wait it out.
Jan! So scary! Slippers and stairs are a dangerous combo. Yikes. The care my friend. You’ve got health insurance, right? That’s actually why I still work!! But I’m afraid I’ll need it most when I finally retire. Sigh. Aloha always, glee.
Jan, I am so sorry this happened to you but happy nothing was broken. I am concerned about your smacking your head . It is good you know about aspirin but concussions, no matter how mild they seem, must be watched so make sure your husband pays a lot of attention to you not only now but for several weeks. Do Not worry about the tutorials, you do not want to put any stress on your brain…yes, your skull protects it to a point but when your head gets smacked like that the brains actually moves, etc. I know only too well on that subject so please rest, rest, rest and let yourself be spoiled !!!
Cynthia, I was an ICU nurse for 25 years… well acquainted with concussion protocol, late bleeds and such. Not to worry, I’m keeping a close eye on my brain – in a manner of speaking!
I had to laugh… I’m a Canadian, so yes, I have health insurance. And the inside track with some highly-skilled intensive care practitioners.
Oh no! So sorry to hear about your fall! Hope you heal quickly! Hugs!!
oh no! awful! i’m with MaryK .. falling down stairs is probably my number one fear! thank heavens, nothing was broken! here’s to healing quickly!
Jan – I am so sorry to hear of your nasty fall! I send wishes of a quite and complete recovery!
I wish you a quick and complete recovery. I am so afraid of falling. I always wear cleats on ice. But not inside. Am taking physical therapy to work on strength & balance.
