Hanukkah! Last week we checked out all things Christmas. Merry Christmas Eve btw. However, this time of the year is also Hanukkah! Our store has some wonderful items to scrap those Hanukkah memories. CHRISTMAS!! It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!! For those of us who celebrate, we are in the full swing of the holiday! Is your tree up? Are your stocking hung with care? How about that shopping? Is it done; and what about…scrapping those memories?! For me…yes, yes, done, and working on it. 🙂 I am also stopping by to absolutely overwhelm your senses with all things Christmas and digital scrapbooking. By the time I am done, you will either not want to see anything Christmas related; or be ready to scrap-scrap-scrap!

Welcome to December! Of course it has been December for nearly two weeks. I missed last week’s blog post; and was unable to say welcome. 🙂 We are going to stray away from all things December today. No holiday talk! Today we are going to focus on one aspect of digital scrapbooking. More like focus on one of the great items you can use to scrap your digital scrapbooking pages.
Today we are going to Focus On….Masks. While looking around the gallery, I find that not many people use them. When they are used though, they really make a layout pop! So, what are masks?
In hands-on artistic works, a mask is a protective shield that keeps an area from being affected by an appplied medium.
For digital creations, that “shield” can end up being the very shape to which a medium is applied. What’s more that medium can be your photo. – via debbiehodge.com
I am no good at tutorials. That is why you always find me bring you great creative ideas and motivation. You should check out our Tutorial Tuesday posts for great how-to’s!….not written by me. lol. There are some great tuts in there on how to “clip”; which is what you do when using a mask.
Today though, we are going to take a look at what the store has to offer on masks! I love shopping. For those who celebrate, Christmas is right around the corner. I know that for here in the states, we have already been Christmastized since November 1st. That doesn’t mean (for me at least) that we cannot enjoy counting down until Christmas!
That is what we are going to talk about today. Christmas Advent Calendar. What is that?
An Advent calendar is a special calendar used to count or celebrate the days in anticipation of Christmas.
I am going to show you some great examples from Pinterest on making your own Advent calendar. Then I will follow up with some great Christmas goodies from the store. Digital scrapbooking doesn’t have to stay digital, you know! Print those items out and get to gluing!

Thanksgiving is next week here in the States; and was last month in Canada. I don’t know about you, I never scrap my photos right after I take them. I usually sit on them for a while. With that in mind, I am stopping by today to show you some great digital scrapbooking supplies for scrapping your Thanksgivings. Be it next week, last month, or years ago! (If Thanksgiving isn’t something you would scrap, but you would like to scrap things you are thankful about, check out THIS POST.) I am going to just jump right into show you the great items. We are almost to the end of 2016; and already on the 8th edition of from the Archives. This year has flown by!
From the Archives is one of my favorite posts to write here at GingerScraps. I have been an enabler of digital scrapbooking with my friends from the start of it for me. I enjoy helping people find new digital scrapbooking supplies.
What archives? Well, we are going to show you some digital scrapbooking supplies that are in the store that are at least a year old. Usually older than that. Some of us may be new to digital scrapbooking or new to GingerScraps. Some people don’t check the store every week. Basically, things can and do get lost in the weekly shuffle of the store. With that in mind, we are going to go back and look at some great products. Our hope is that you find some great things you might have been looking for; or find something that you didn’t know you needed but totally do now that you see it!
You might have noticed all these oldies but goodies have similarity about them. The color! This From the Archives, I chose to go back to November 2015’s Buffet. Taking a look at what hitting the store a year ago. Don’t forget about November 2016’s Buffet! These two compliment each other well.
Here in the states it is technically Autumn. Although, in the south eastern side of things it doesn’t feel like it. We had summer temps last week. No joke! The hot weather I am dealing with aside, it is Autumn none the less.
To me, when I think Autumn, I think leaves!…and well scrapping. Hands-down this time of year brings my favorite digital scrapbooking supplies to the stores. I just love the colors of the Autumn kits, all the leaves, and the nature feel to it all.
Today though we are going to talk about scrapping with leaves. Digital scrapbooking with leaves to be more precise. I will show you some fun examples here in the store I found that should get those creative juices flowing. We will end today’s post with some great digital scrapbooking supplies from here at GingerScraps to get those leave inspired layouts scrapped. One of my favorite things to do with leaves on a digital scrapbooking layout is to cut them out into the page with a patterned background behind it. This is a great example of that! You could also get this effect by overlaying your favorite paper on top of a leaf you like in a kit (or shape in your program). Then shadow it to look like a cut out.
One of my favorite things about digital scrapbooking (besides actual scrapping) is the online community. Siggies in forums are a fun part of that!
You can also take fun photos with leaves, to scrap. Here are two great examples of that. One of them being super fun; and the other one showing the beauty that is nature.
You can also use a cut out to make a great focal point or background to a title for your layout. See below for this exact template!
Leaves are also one of the best (in my opinion) items to use for clustering. Framing a photo or anything really is another great use for leaves. Let us not forget the beautiful leaf-patterned papers and more.
There are a lot of uses for leaves in digital scrapbooking. The examples above are just a slight glimpse into what you can do. Now that your mind is thinking about leaves and how to scrap them, here are some great items from the store to scrap with!
Good morning scrappers. November is just a few sleeps away. I don’t know about you, but I just cannot believe that! We are nearly done with 2016. Wow! Well, with November comes the thought of being Thankful. I cannot be alone in seeing my Facebook (and more) filled with 30-Days of Thankful. With Thanksgiving just passing in Canada; and Thanksgiving fast aproching in the States, who could blame them? Did you know you could scrap your 30-Days of Thankful? Well, of course you can. 🙂 I was looking around on Pinterest and the store and here are some fun ideas and digital scrapbooking supplies to get those projects rolling. (all images are linked.)

Good morning all! It is that time of year again. For those who celebrate, Halloween will be here before we know it. I bounce back-and-forth between Halloween and Christmas being my favorite holiday. Looking at my stash, you would think it was Halloween. I just have to have all of them! I keep telling myself, “You have plenty of Halloween goodies, La’Shawn!” Then…I buy more. I am excited to share with you all today the fun Halloween goodies we have here at GingerScraps. I should have posted this on Saturday. The weekend got away from me. So, we get to brighten our Monday with fun Halloween digital scrapbooking supplies.

Another Saturday is here, we are heading to the end of October already, and another edition of In the Spotlight. Today’s spotlight will be shining on one of the most busy ladies in digital scrapbooking land. Teresa…otherwise known as totallycre8tive. You can usually find her at a sports event for her kiddos, or behind the scene here. She is a talented scrapbooker as well. Let us take a look at some of her layouts. Teresa really knows how to fill a layout out, without it feeling cluttered. I always enjoy her use of papers, especially patterned ones. She also has wonderful and fun photos!
