Kit Spotlight- Lil’ CrimeFighter.

Do you have boys or grandsons? What is it with boys? I mean at the youngest possible age, they seem to know, just know, how to make a gun out of anything and shoot bad guys. Just the other night my 3YO got an empty wrapping paper roll and proceeded to pretend he was shooting a bazooka. I was the bad guy of course {what else could I be as I sat on the couch nursing the baby?!?}. Anyway, I have never taught him about gunfights, he just KNOWS! This is the cutest kit for scrapping all those games of cops and robbers that boys love so much. Lil’ Crime Fighters by Statements By Jodi. Such a unique and adorable kit. Some of my favorite elements in this kit include a walkie talkie, hand cuffs, sheriff stars, police dog, jail bars and my personal favorite, the barbed wire. This kit has 13 papers and 33 fun unique elements. Here is a look at the kit-

And here is what Jodi had to say about it-

What was your inspiration for this kit?

1. My little boy.  He has the cutest outfits and one is a cute shirt and bib that says “Daddy Little Hero” and it’s got a firetruck on it.  It got me thinking about other little things boys could be and it got me on a series of “Lil’ Fighters”.  Next will be “Lil’ Fire Fighters”.  Also keep your eye out for “Lil’ Germ Fighters” and “Lil’ Cavity Fighters”.

How do you go about making a kit?
2. First I come up with my idea and then start thinking about what elements I would like in the kit.  Then I make my papers because I like to use the papers in my elements.
What is your ideal scrap zone?

3. My scrap zone is complete silence.  There is so much going on during my day with the 2 kids that I like complete silence while scrapping.  Nap time is best!

Look at what I scrapped, I choose to do a non-crime fighting LO, Just to show the versatility of the kit-

And now for some gallery inspiration, images linked

And Jodi has generously made this cute lil add-on for us all! Leave her some love! You can grab it HERE

Kit Spotlight- Mommy’s Helper

Hello friends! It is that time again. Time to spotlight and awesome Gingerscraps kit. This time I am going to show you the cutest little kit by Pretty in Green called Mommy’s Helper. If any of you have little children around, you know just how much they love to help out. I have a 3 year old who LOVE to put clean dishes away and sweep the floor. This kit is perfect for all those kinds of moments. Some of my favorite elements in this kit are the vacuum, the folded laundry, messy laundry, a washer and dryer, broom, mop, feather duster, and sponge. But there is soo much to this kit! Here is a look at the full bundle-

And here is a LO I did with is. Isn’t that bubble paper so fun?

I checked out the GS Gallery for some more inspiration and here is what I found- Images are linked, go leave some love!

See how cute this kit is? Visit The GS Shoppe here and check it out! Here is a little freebie I made with the super fun kit! Enjoy! DL the Chore Chart HERE

Behind the Scrapbook

Good evening scrappers, if you’re still up if not good morning! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I had a quiet day. I drove the hubby to the airport today, he is gone till Friday:( So it’s an all girl week… I feeling some rice, chicken and broccoli coming on and maybe even a little shopping!!! Then I made my hour drive home take about 5 hours!! OK so I spent a little time searching for Geo Caches all the way home! I have found 68 caches to date! It’s really nice to have some quiet time walking around in the bush looking for junk but the quiet time is the real treasure. I’m also getting ready to launch my own caches soon. I made some super cool cache containers and I’ll share some photos next week!

So I was chatting with Amy and she is looking forward to having some quiet time too…. kinda….

Amy is pretty excited that her husband is taking their three year old to the “Big Guy, Little guy and Gal” overnight camping trip on the 10th. She will have one evening with just her one year old (who goes to sleep at 7pm), and the the “big guys” will get a fun experience. (Next year the one year old will be old enough to join them!)

I remember those days!! And look forward to maybe seeing some fun photos!! IDK do dad’s take pictures??

Oh and Jodi had a big week…

Tuesday September 7th Jodi started home schooling Rebekah! Rebekah is 3 and will be 4 in December so is in Pre-School. Rebekah was very excited about starting school and asked if it was time for school yet everyday for weeks before she started. The day after Labor Day was the big day and Rebekah was thrilled to get started. She picked out a backpack that she wanted just a few weeks before.
This week Rebekah learned about the letter A, the state of NJ (where she lives), the planet Earth, the number 1, the shapes heart, diamond, circle, and square and the colors red, blue, yellow, and pink. She also learned from her Bible about creation and Adam and Eve. She painted with paint and water colors, colored with markers and crayons, and wrote the letter A and a and the number 1. Boy she’s had a full week!

Her Dora desk that she loves so much!

The backpack she picked out…

Painting in one of her daddy’s old shirts…

Coloring a heart with markers…

And the letters A she made with cereal (Apple Jacks and Alphabet Cereal)

Jodi realized after she took the picture that she put the lowercase a upside down for the picture. hehe

Wonderful work Rebekah!!! Jodi is such an ambitious mom to take on this big job!! I know there are quite a few of you mom’s out there that decide to home school your children…. my hats off to you!! I have no idea how you do it!! I sure look forward to updates along the way and seeing some more art projects!!

While I’m on the topic of school and kids… my sister an I were talking about school uniforms yesterday. I have to say I’m all for the school uniform. I love that everyone at school would wear the same thing and it wouldn’t cost parents a small fortune buying all the brands our kids love!! My sister on the other hand is totally against it! Her stance is that a school uniform only comes in limited if not only one style and that we are all different body shapes. So the same outfit doesn’t work for everybody!! I can see her point but I have to say that I’m still all for it.

So I’m wondering, did you ever have to wear a uniform and how did you feel about it?? Would you want your kids to have school uniforms??

Behind the Scrapbook

So summer is slowly winding down. Kids are back in school and now the mommy’s have a little more time to do mommy things! I know I’m excited and so is Shannon, A.K.A Shananigans! Here’s what she wrote me when I asked what was her favorite thing about this summer….

My kids start school on the 1st. Officially one more year before my “baby” can go to pre-kindergarten, which really means one more year before I get 2 hours to myself everyday!

My favorite thing about the summer was starting to work for Ginger Scraps!

Awww isn’t she awesome!? It so awesome that she loves Ginger Scraps as much as we do!! I know in the morning GS is my first stop. I have to check out the chatter section and see what you’re all up to!!

I was also talking with Rachel, She’s had a few milestones this summer…

If you remember a few weeks ago Rachel of Pretty in Green shared with us a little milestone of Ana’s, she got a Big Girl bed! Well now little miss Ana is 2!!! She turned 2 on the 31st of August and is officially in the “terrible twos” lol no really she’s always terrible but she knows how to steal your heart and get away with it, lol! Here’s a few pics of here birthday cupcakes, Rachel made the frosting from scratch, she said it was a big hit! Happy Birthday Anastasia!

One other Milestone she wants to share with us, her little boy, Gage, is now a biker! He learned how to work his big bike with training wheels, no more trike for him! We are all very proud of him!

Mandy has had a fun summer… their last outing before school started was the Calgary Zoo!! Here are a few snaps…

Julie, Kelsey and Ben:)

Mandy’s favorite part of the whole day was the butterfly tent!!

And here is the little one carrying the big one…

Poor Kelsey’s feet where getting sore so Julie thought she’d help out!

And of course Mandy’s favorite summertime activity… this was her first ammo box find!!! If she’s not at Ginger Scraps you can find her Geo Caching!!

So what was your favorite summer activity??
