Fresh Baked! 11-12

Hello and Good Friday to you! Have you recovered from Digital Scrapbooking Day? We are still cleaning up around here. There was tons of confetti left all over the chat room floor from the wild speed scraps. We are getting everything back in order so we can do it again Black Friday Weekend. Oh….wait a minute. Hi my lovely Scrap-tastic friends! We have some very exciting news to announce! GingerScraps.net is joining forces with ScrapStreet.com Magazine to create a new digital and hybrid ezine! GingerScrapsStreet Magazine will showcase the latest and greatest in all things that BYTE brightly! We feel that this new magazine will be the cherry on top of our site and hope that you will join in to make it a fabulous publication.

We are now accepting applications for staff positions. Do you have a passion for all things digital or hybrid? Do you love sharing new ideas and hot trends with your fellow scrappers? Are you interested in increasing your online presence reaching thousands of subscribers each month?If you are selected for our new digital team with GingerScraps, you will write a monthly article which will include selecting and requesting the work of designers, combining the work into an interesting article, and meeting your deadline. You will receive products from GingerScraps and other industry designers as a thank you for sharing your talents. It is an excellent opportunity to increase your visibility in the scrapping community while having fun.

Hi all! I am Dora Phillips and I am so excited to have the opportunity to put together an amazing digital and hybrid magazine here at GingerScraps. ScrapStreet.com Magazine begins our sixth year with the December issue. A walk back through old issues would showcase a long history with GingerScraps from her days as a designer with us. I have been amazed and inspired by Ginger’s talent and vision for years and am loving the chance to work with her full time.

I design under the name LemonLove Creations. I have long been a fan of the saying “turn lemons into lemonade” and believe that scrappbooking allows us all to do that. We can look at our darling daughter covered in our brand new super expensive lipstick, grab the camera, and giggle. Or we can dig deep into feelings we might otherwise leave hidden if we did not have an artistic way to express them. Scrapping gives me a way to look at the world through lemonade glasses. Let’s Get Crafty: Acorn Nativity

It’s time to get crafty! Who’s ready? OK…I’m not…hahaha. I haven’t had any time to craft in forever. But, I do have a really cute project to show you. It is my very favorite Christmas decoration. My daughter made this for me when she was about 11. She is 17 now. I pack it very carefully every year.

This is a project that you don’t really need any money for. When Kayla made this she just went searching around the yard at her Grandmas house. She found a few things in the craftroom and a little hot glue. She made this all on her own one afternoon. Came up with the idea in her own cute little brain. 🙂 I love it.

I know a lot of your kids would have fun making something like this. I know all my kids love Nature Crafts. You can find inspiration anywhere. Right in your own back yard!

Challenge Spotlight – Nov. Inspiration

Thank you ladies so much for sharing your favorite challenges with me this past week! Did you have a great Digi Scrap Weekend? I hope you took advantage of all the amazing stuff at Gingerscraps! Especially the double challenge points! That’s past now, but you can still work on getting those challenge points and work toward those store discounts! Here’s a challenge you may want to give a try: My Nov. Inspiration Challenge. The purpose of this challenge is to get those creative juices flowing with an insprational picture that I post. Here’s the one for Nov.

It’s not these cutouts that drew my eye but how they are presented on this window creates a layered effect that I think would make for great scrap booking inspiration.

Challenge Spotlight – Your Favorite Challenge

Wow The first of the month is sooo busy especially since I’m still trying to come out of my Halloween candy sugar coma. But here I am with a winner from last weeks challenge! Sarah with her Walking the Path Layout using that fabulous font for her title. Here’s what she won:

Now since it’s the first of the month challenges are being posted as I type (well not mine because I’m trying to get this done first. 🙂 ) So because not all the challenges are posted yet, and because I don’t have wonderful LO’s to show off, This week I want YOU to tell me what YOUR favorite challenge is and why. You can even post a link to one of your layouts from that challenge.
