Let’s Get Crafty {Jewelry Edition}

Hello Bloggy Friends in Digi-land!

My name is Laura and I’m on the store CT here at Gingerscraps!

Today I’m stepping in for Julie and hosting the “Let’s get crafty” edition!I have an awesome tutorial for you and I’m pretty sure you already have most of the supplies needed lying around your house!

These button bracelets are super easy and fun to make. You can also make them to coordinate with your favorite outfit!

To get started you will need these supplies:
elastic: 1/4″ thick
buttons
thread and needle
Wrap the elastic around your wrist to see how long it needs to be. Don’t make it too tight!

Leave an overlap of about an inch on either side. Mark it with a pencil so you know where to sew it together.

Then line up your buttons next to it so you know where you want to place them.

*I decided after I took this picture that I wanted my buttons to overlap a little bit. If you want to try this instead, just overlap them a bit instead of a straight line as pictured below*

Now you want to sew your ends together. Use the pencil mark as a guide and start sewing it together. You can also use a lighter on the ends to keep from fraying.

It should look something like this when you are finished.

Now it’s time to sew the buttons on! Start with the one in the middle and work your way out…..

To secure the button to the elastic, loop it through a few times underneath and then create a knot as shown here….

See how I’ve overlapped my buttons a bit? Cute eh?!

Here is the almost finished product….

And there you have it! Finito!

Super easy, super fun, and the options are endless!!!! I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial! For more inspiration you can check out my blog for more tutorials!

Tuesday Tips and April Daily Download #26

Today I’m going to kick off a fun new feature called “Tuesday Tips” and boy do I have some good news for y’all!  Did you know that iNSD is coming up?  The weekend of May 6, 7, and 8 we will be celebrating in a big way at Ginger Scraps!!!  One of the things we will be doing is granting wishes!!!  There will be a few chances to win FREE kits off of your store wish list!!!  So…. today I am going to show you how to fill up your wish list in the store!  🙂

1. Log in to the store

2. The wish list link is on the left hand side in the same place you find your cart.  If you already have something in there – it will show up when you click on this link.  If you haven’t added anything yet – hop to step 3.  🙂

3.  Start shopping!  As you stroll through the store – you can add things to your wish list or to your cart.

4.  This is what your wish list will look like once you have started adding items.

Once you’ve added kits to your wish list – now you can cross your fingers that the designers will choose to grant your wish!  🙂

So head on over to the store and start filling up that wish list so it will be all ready by next Friday!  🙂  Of course – let me know if you have any questions.  I will be watching the comments (as I always do) and answering as soon I can after I see a question.  Now before you go shopping – here’s day #26 for ya:

Have a great day!!!!

Challenge Spotlight – Sugar Swap

Spring has finally  poked its head out from behind the rain/snow clouds here in Idaho! Yay! I hope you all enjoyed your Easter, Passover, spring holidays! We sure did!

So umm no one entered last weeks challenge spotlight. 🙁 so I guess that means no prize for me to give out. So I’ll just move on and hope we get better results this week, after all it is the last week of April!!

This weeks Challenge spotlight is the Sugar Swap hosted by prettyingreen! This is a scrap lift challenge! My favorite! Rachel (PinG) has supplied you with two beautiful LOs you can lift:

By Tree City

&

by daisydil

Wow Right? What lovely LOs!

Still unsure of what a scrap lift is? essentially  you copy the basic LO or idea, and then make it your own!

Here’s some fabulous examples:

by chigirl

by Serial Crafter

Love how on this second one she combined a bit of each LO to make it truly her own. Never let a scraplift challenge limit you, only inspire you to greatness. 🙂

Ready for your own greatness? Go visit Rachel’s Scrap Lift Challenge

Then come back here and post the link to your LO in the gallery and post it in a comment here. Next week I’ll randomly select one and that person will win a prize from ME! (Harmonystar).

CT & those who have already done a LO with this kit are elligable. Let me see those comments!
