Is it Too Late to Dish??

Gosh with all my computer issues I am still struggling with this laptop.  I just got all my data backed up and now today I am taking it back in to get totally reformatted.  YUCK!  So forgive me for my tardiness!  On with the dish…..  Last time some on asked for a few favorite recipes.  I am going to share some with you today.  First up is my all time favorite crock pot roast.  It is called To Die For Pot Roast and it is easy peasy!  And with summer and busy schedules its perfect!

To Die For Pot Roast

1 Pkg Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing

1 Pkg. Brown Gravy

1 Pkg. Italian Dressing

1 cup water

1 Pot Roast

Place Pot Roast in the bottom of your crock pot and sprinkle the 3 pkgs of dressing mixes on top of the roast and add your cup of water.  If desired, I am sure you can add onions.  (I am sure I do!)  Let cook on low for 8 hours and serve with rice or potatoes.  So easy!

Stuffed Jalapeono’s

1 pkg cream cheese

2 to 3 cups shredded cheese

2 to 3 garlic cloves minced ( I use fresh)

1 tbs mayonnaise

1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

season to taste ( I use fajita seasoning )

1 Large can of jalapeno halves ( mild if desired or you can rinse to take some of the fire out )  I go straight out of the can!

Mix all ingredient except the jalapeno halves and then stuff the halves with the cheese mixture.  If the slices are thin, you can just put some on top of the thin slices rather than actually stuffing the half.  The pecans help take some of the “heat” out of the jalapenos!

I will try to add a few more recipes in the following weeks.  But for now that will get you started.  Rachael asked about some other programs for scrap booking.  I have tried one from Sam’s club that was just a cheap program and the issues with that is they are so limited.  So I am not one to recommend anything other than Photoshop Elements or PS.  I think there are some other ones that allow “layering” and to me that is the key.  If you want to really personalize your photos you need to be able to layer text and other goodies on your layout to make it truly yours.  I started out on PSE and really for the most part unless you are designing you can get by with it.  The programs are so sophisticated these days.  Oh I forgot about a little free program called Gimp.  That is designed to mimic PhotoShop so I have heard great things about that program.  I have not used it myself.  But I have seen it.  Ok.. well  until next time…Baskets of Blessings!  :)T

Hi friends!! I’ve been out and about enjoying the nice weather! Spending a little less time on the computer but still keeping up on whats going on. For instance…

Spotted in Wilmington NC – ModernJune and the June Bugs!!

Kathy is traveling with her 3 kids to her parents in NC–7hours on the road, 1 mom vs 3 kids… I’m sure I’ll dig up more dirt on this trip… good luck mommy!!!

Have fun Kathy and don’t let their sweet faces fool you!!!

If you’ve wondered where belhepsibah (Sara) has been I’ll tell ya! First of all she’s pregnant. She just found out she’s have a girl! Yay!! As soon as she got into her second tri her hubby left for work training and she was stuck alone and pregnant with a 1 1/2 yr old for 7 weeks! Yikes! What does she do? Road trip! She came and visited her most wonderful bestest friend in the whole world (Rachel A.K.A. Harmony Star) as well as lots of family. Funerals, graduations, this and that so busy. When she returned home and her hubby returned to her she found out she would be moving to New Mexico at the end of July I believe. And so goes the house hunting process. She’s a busy girl and even though she misses her scrapping friends, she is happy, healthy and taking lots of pictures for later scrapping. And we look forward to more pictures and wish Sara a healthy pregnancy!!

Daddy Reunion

Visiting New Mexico

I know I could spend a day drinking Ice Caps and exploring these little shops! Hmmm I think we should help Sara out and come up with some pretty girly names. I really like Olivia, Gwen, Presley, Ada, Meakin, Scotia just to name a few! Do you like unisex, trendy, unique or more traditional names?? I like vintage names… although my hubby tends to prefer more traditional names so we ended up using a more unisex plain Jane names… after all we are not famous and don’t have enough money to be eccentric so no Apples and Sundays in our family… yet:)  What are your favorite baby girl names??

So, how are all my crafty friends today! Boy what a busy week. I forgot it was Thursday until this morning! Time for Let’s Get Crafty!

I hope you all had a nice holiday weekend in the USA. Ours was great. My boys loved the shirts I made them. They looked so cute!

Well…I haven’t made any craft projects this week! Can you believe that! I made so many flowers and headbands last week, I needed a break…and my laundry needed taken care of 🙂

Another great place is Cut Out and Keep love this site!

Behind The Scrapbook

Oh my gosh!! Has anyone else had a crazy busy week?? Kiddos are out of school, Canada day and Independence Day tomorrow. I know there’s lots of festivities going on.  I was supposed to go to the cabin with my BFF but I just couldn’t get it together in time… real life sometimes gets in the way of my fun life. Although I’m sitting here in the quite… first time I sat down all day and I have to say I’m feeling good. Sure my week was long but I have a great sense of a accomplishment and I can sit here with my feet up sipping my nighty night tea and feel guilt free about sleeping in tomorrow morning!

It’s also been pretty busy around Ginger Scraps this week. I know I’m missing my ladies and looking forward to a new month filled with fun challenges! I’ve been taking pictures like crazy so I’m set!

I have been a little absent but I did check out Rachel’s new store… Hmmm yup that’s right I’m so excited to welcome Pretty in Green to Ginger Scraps. I’ve been a fan of her freebies and LO’s for some time and she is such a welcome addition to the team:) I am so excited about her new puppy love series… I have sooo many puppy photos that still need to be scrapped!

She also has other breeds of dogs as well… which is good because I have a whole pack!!

Rachel also has some good news on the home front. Her dear daughter Ana is really getting used to her new glasses she has even caught her even fixing them on her face rather than taking them off  she just looks so grown up in them, way too cute! Way to go Ana!!

In other goings on… I happened to talk to Mandy and she is recovering from her Ryliegh hangover! She had her niece Rye spend the week at her house… now keep in mind that her kids are 16 (we’ll get to that later!) and 11…

I’m going to copy and paste a post of hers from our private DT thread…. haha shhh…

******

Seriously I have no idea how you guys get anything done with little ones running around. I had my niece Rye for the past week and a bit and I am soooo pooped!!

She fun and pretty easy to look after but needs constant supervision! One day when she was running to the potty I was trying to just finish up gathering dishes… like 10 seconds goes by and I’m hot on her heels. I go to the bathroom and she’s not there…I find her in the kitchen … she had dumped a water bottle full of water into my big container of rice! So I made some rice that night for dinner…

She’s also doesn’t not like to be messy so if she gets a spot of mess on her clothes she needs to change…. it got to the point she showed me how to turn on my washing machine!! She’s brilliant! It’s a front load washer so she loads it with all her clothes I just need to do the soap!

Anyways life should be getting back to normal so I can catch up with my scrapping…

While I sit here a have a beer….... <—- that’s my favorite part ha!

*******

And here’s a picture of the sweetie.. BTW totally getting the potty thing… Yay Rye!

Mandy also had another milestone this week. Her daughter Kelsey turned 16!!! And got her licence!! And a car!!!! That a whole lot for a mom to take in all in one week!!

Here’s Kelsey in her car…

Well I’m off to go dig around for some more juicy gossip…. cya next Saturday!!

Rachel wrote up a little bio for you all-

I’m so happy to be joining Ginger Scraps! I’m a stay at home mom of 2 lil ones Gage who is 4 and Ana who is 1.5 Married to my hubby of which whom I am totally in love with 🙂 I have been digital scrapping for some time, the years are blurring together now, lol. I had been an avid paper scrapper all through high school, my friends and I would stay up late in to the night scrapping away, anyways after having Gage there was no way I could continue paper scrapping I made a few pages in his book and that was that. While shopping in Target one day I found a computer program for digital scrap booking, I talked hubby in to getting it for me for Christmas and then letting me have it early so I could play with it, I made about 5 pages with that program until I found Ginger Scraps and discovered a whole new world of digital scrap booking. I stopped using that program and dusted off my Photoshop and began Freebie hunting, I was in awe of the generosity of those designers with so many freebies, so I started making freebies too, when we moved in to our house, the address here is crazy and a lil screwed up lol so we couldn’t find Internet access for 6 months, but when we did right away I logged on to Ginger Scraps and was happy that it still felt like home to me! I entered the Designer contest and failed miserably I am so embarrassed by the designs I put out, but I kept at it and I take my time and now I put out ,in my opinion, beautiful quality designs that I hope you will enjoy and love too : )

Here’s the First Design I’d Like to Show you, I’m in love with it, I call it the Puppy Love Series! These kits came out of the love of my own Beagle mix I wanted to scrap layouts with some similar looking dog elements and all I could find out there were equally cute but non-specific breed doodles or cut outs, so one day I asked a few girls what their favorite breeds were and these kits came to life. There will be more puppies on the way if you want a puppy made for your breed of dog let me know, I’ll add it to my list 🙂

The Puppy Love Series will be 30% off until the 4th of July!

These kits are perfect for a dog lover. I know I love my beagle mix! These adorable puppies need a home will you take one home with you and keep him safe? scrap him with pictures of your favorite puppy. He comes with a few of his favorite items and toys. 2 word arts, 1 paper shaper, 12 elements, 1 doghouse frame.

Kit Spotlight- Skirts in the Dirt

I have a super fun kit to talk to you about today. It’s called Skirts in the Dirt by Tabby of Scrapberry Designs and is a softball themed kit… for girls! I just loved the bright colors of this kit. When we think summer, it’s usually baseball and boys right? Well girls play too! In fact I played softball in summer leagues as a kid for years! This kit is a must for anyone who has daughters or grand daughters playing ball. Some of my favorite things in this kit included a pink catchers vest, Word Art, silhouettes, splatters, and a pink baseball mitt. But there is so much more in this fun themed kit! Here is what the kit looks like, isn’t it fun? It has a total of 13 papers and 36 Elements plus an alpha and numbers! Visit this kit here in the GS Shoppe!

I like to ask our spotlighted designer a few questions and this is what Tabby had to say~

1. what was your inspiration for the kit, colors etc?

My lead CT’s daughter is a hard core baseball player. She’s been looking for a kit to scrap her with but couldn’t really find what she wanted so I made this kit for Ms. Catherine. The colors actually came from her uniform. Here’s a layout her momma made showing her off

2. What is your method for designing kits, papers first ellies first?

With this one I went back and forth. I worked on some ellies and got a feel of where it was going and did some papers and then I’d do some more ellies until I felt it was finished.
3. What do you design to? Music, tv complete silence?

Ummm, whats music, tv, or completed silence? LOL. In a house with three little boys I pretty much here growling, crying, or fighting all day long. Now in a dream world I’d have an office with a door and my kids would go play in their play room and let me listen to some good old 80’s music and get into “my zone” and have some mommy time. But, as I said, that’s just a dream :P.

Poor Tabby, I like to design and scrap to music myself, but 3 boys sounds like a handful!

Here are some gallery stand outs I found with this fantastical kit!

This one is by Kimmiescraps. I love the attitude captured in the main photo!

And here is a feebie QP made with this kit! Snag it HERE
