Fresh Baked: Welcome Kawouette Designs

Okay, I know it’s not Friday, nor is it the first of the month, but sometimes, there’s just something that can’t be contained. It can’t be held back. This is one of those times!!

We at Gingerscraps are proud to welcome a new designer!! Kawouette Designs!!

We asked her to introduce herself, and here’s what she had to say:

Hi! i’am Laëtitia aka Kawouette.
I’m 28 years old. I live in France with my husband and my 3 children (9,6 and 2)!
I scrap since 5 years and i’am designer since 4 years. I have stopping designs on January and i’am back with lots of delicious new goodies!
I love photography, travel,be with my kids,cinema and films in genera!But i don’t like cooking!! I prefer digiscrap!
I love creating kits, purple, owls and stitches in my kits is my favorite!

She’s a French designer, so while her English isn’t perfect, her designs are!! Don’t just take MY word for it! See for yourself!!

Fresh Baked for August 24, 2012

Oh goodness me. Is it really Friday? I’m telling you, these days are zooming right on by!!

As I’ve been driving around lately, I’ve been noticing more and more people on bikes. You know, fully decked out, looking like Lance Armstrong. It’s pretty cool to see people getting active and being healthy. I’d love to join in, if I had a bike. How sad is it that I don’t have one. I guess I could go out and actually run, but where do you store a water bottle when you do that? I’ve got like no hips, so it’s not like I can hook it onto the waistband of my pants. That is not a picture anyone wants to see. 😉

Soon, it’ll be cool enough in the evenings that my husband can take the kids outside and throw around a football. Maybe this will be the year that my son isn’t scared of getting hit by the ball and will actually attempt to catch it!!

Fresh Baked for August 17, 2012

Heyo! It’s that time again! Fresh Baked Friday is seriously one of my favorite times of the week. I think all week on what I’m going to say. Sometimes it doesn’t come out exactly like I want, but I hope y’all enjoy it anyway!

So the Olympics are over. That time flew by, didn’t it? Baseball is winding down, sort of. I’m not sure. I’m not a big baseball follower. I don’t know about you, but I’m more excited for football starting up! Preseason is here. Sundays are now perfect to spend the day lounging in front of the television, watching some pigskin being tossed around.

I’m a total Colts girl at heart. I don’t care if Peyton is in Denver. Even if I do have his jersey hanging in my closet. The Colts have Luck. Horseshoes and Luck! Who can lose?

So, in honor of football, I chose a couple layouts done by our amazing Gingerscraps members!! It’s pretty obvious that y’all LOVE the Go Team buffet, which is what we love to see!!

Oh, wow! Friday already? I’ve been so focused on the Olympics that I almost forgot what day it was.

The commitment this athletes have is amazing. Their focus and drive is inspiring.

I do wonder, though, if they are logging their memories like we do. The Go Team buffet is perfect for it.

Whether you’re into baseball or basketball, football or soccer, even wrestling and swimming, there is a mini in the buffet that would so be perfect.

I’m Ana and I live in Brazil with my eternal love and our couple of doggies that are our joy!

I worked as a teacher for 11 years but in 2007/8 I found out the digital scrapbook and felt in love (of course!). Art was always part of my life and I have the best job of the world for 3 years now!

I’m SO excited to see what else she has in store for us!!

That’s not it for those joining the team!! This one has been in the wings for awhile. I’m SO excited to welcome Wendy, of Neverland Scraps to the Gingerscraps team!!!

Here’s what Wendy had to tell us about herself:

My name is Wendy. I am the name behind Neverland Scraps. I started digiscrapping in May of 2005. One day during the month of May (sounds like a song, huh?) I needed an element that I couldn’t find in my digistash so I did a Google search and found a tutorial. After walking myself through the tutorial, It didn’t take me long to realize that I too could make the things that I was buying from designing. In June of 2005, a friend asked me to consider selling my products in her store. I designed through my husband’s deployment (talk about therapy!), through many military moves, breaking my leg in eleven places and many up’s and downs. However, in November of 2009, I decided it was time to close shop and focus on scrapbooking, which is what I thought was my true passion. While scrapbooking has been my passion in the past, I realized that I really enjoyed all aspects of designing. I jump head-first in to doing quality control in hopes that it would keep me away from designing. But I continued to design things for friends who had requests for kits that they couldn’t find! Or I’d find an ISO thread that no one bothered to pay attention (never here!!). I tried to ignore the buzz it as much as I could until I couldn’t help creating something new, learning something new with Photoshop and now Adobe Illustrator and sharing it with my blog readers. It was then that a bug, or a best friend, whispered in my ear, "I think you want to sell in a store again" I denied it, fought it, ignored it as much as possible, all while creating things for my blog! Then one day it hit me like a ton of bricks. I missed designing a lot!! I finally broke down and applied to GingerScraps where Ginger graciously brought me on board (Thank you Ginger!). I am very excited at the thought of being part of a store again, the camaraderie that designers, team members and community members have with one another. I have missed that aspect while sitting on the sidelines these past few years.

I do believe she’ll fit in just fine, just fine indeed!!

Fresh Baked: Christmas in July

Songs of cold are more than welcome. The heat of summer is strong on us in the States. I complain about snow, but right now, I’d accept some of the cold, wet stuff.

The reasons the songs are stuck in my head has nothing to do with a desire for cold! GingerScraps is proud to announce the re-release of the December 2011 buffet, revamped! It was taken down as a precaution, and now it’s ready for release.

The signs of the season really inspired the CT! They went a little crazy with the layouts!

Friday the 13th. I don’t put a lot of stock in the superstition that it’s a bad luck day. I don’t know, but this date has been good luck for me.

I’m completely ready for a vacation. The Midwest is going through a heat wave. It’s hot, and it’s draining.

But, I’ve gotta look at it from the bright side: it just means I have more of an excuse to sit in front of the computer.

Instead of climbing into a hot, sticky car, I can sit and scrapbook, enjoying the A/C.
