Challenge Spotlight – Word Art Challenge

Happy Tuesday, ladies! I hope everyone had a great weekend and y’all’s week is off to a good start! (Is it weird that I used a slang word like y’all, but still punctuated it properly??) The weekend was a long one for me and I’m already ready for the next one! I was busy the whole time, but I did get some scrapping done! Speaking of scrapping (and getting back on topic), this week I am spotlighting another wonderful challenge: the word art challenge hosted by the amazing Susie of Psychozoe Designs!

Let’s see the gorgeous WA Susie created for us to work with this month:

Unique, upbeat–so very Psychozoe! hehe

This WA is really cool and the fabulous ladies in the forum did not disappoint with their sweet creative skills this month! If you need some inspiration to complete this challenge, look no further!

Beautiful, beautiful work! I love how all three of these LOs use the same word art in totally different ways through completely different techniques. Now that’s talent!

Now it’s YOUR turn! Of course, the June word art challenge is going on through the end of June. To get the WA freebie, just hop over to the forum for instructions and you can get to scrapping!

As always, I want to remind you to get credit for the challenges, you need to head over to the June Challenge Points Tracking thread and post with your LO links so we can get you that discount code or gift certificate! Also, any questions about this or any of our challenges should be directed to the Cookie Jar so a groovy GingerScraps lady can help you! Note: if you want to see your layout highlighted here on the blog, don’t forget to play along with the challenges and post your LOs in the threads! I pick three scraps a week to show off; yours could be up here next week! 🙂

That’s it for this post! Have a great rest of your week and see you in the forums! <3

Challenge Spotlight – Color Challenge

Good morning, ladies! Sorry I’m a little late on this morning’s blog; it’s been a hectic, emotional week for me, BUT I’m psyched to bring you this week’s challenge spotlight! This week, I’m spotlighting June’s color challenge hosted by Roseytoes Designs! Ryan has picked a really great palette for us to work with this month, it’s a little masculine just in time for Father’s Day, but neutral enough to work with any layout! Here’s what she’s chosen:

So pretty! I love that sage green and beige. (Am I biased because this is essentially my bathroom color palette? Maybe!) Ryan has picked out some great kits that include these colors; make sure you stop by the color challenge thread to see those and get some ideas on which kits to use!

The ladies in the forum have already been hard at work creating some lovely LOs with these colors. If you need a little inspiration for your own scrap,  take a look at these!

From a masculine father layout to a lovely, feminine heritage layout–you ladies did an excellent job making this color palette your own! I can’t wait to see what YOU will do with this, too! 🙂

That’s it for me! If you have any questions about this or any of our other monthly challenges, you can direct those to the Cookie Jar! All the fabulous GS ladies are ready to help in any way possible and answer any questions you may have about the challenges or scrapping in general! Until next week! <3

Challenge Spotlight – Template Challenge #1

O.M.G. It’s JUNE already?! That’s just crazy. The year is nearly half-over! BUT what isn’t half-over is the awesomeness going on in the forums! (Ok, that was a reach, but it’s certainly true!) Everyone loves freebies, right? (I know my favorite price is FREE!) So, let’s start off this month’s challenge spotlights with one that includes a fabulous freebie, the month’s first template challenge hosted by Connie Prince!

Connie has definitely always been one of my favorite designers and I absolutely adore her templates. Let’s take a look at what she’s created for us to work with this month!

CUUUUUUTE! I’ve got this one downloaded and I can’t wait to use it! I love scallops and paper stacks and this template certainly fits the bill! Need some inspiration before you start this challenge? You know I’ve got some for you: let’s see what the lovely ladies of the forums have created with this template so far!

Challenge Spotlight – Font Challenge

Happy Tuesday, ladies! Hope everyone had a restful long weekend and you’re all bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and ready to scrap! With just a couple of days left in May (OMG it’s almost June!), I’ve got one more monthly challenge to spotlight for you all. This week, I am shining a light on the May font challenge, hosted by JoyLynn of Blue Heart Scraps!

I am always in the market for new fonts to spruce up my layouts and this month, I just happened to be looking for some big, bold fonts for titling. Luckily, JoyLynn already found a great one for us to use in this month’s challenge: take a look!

Cute, right? I love the feel of this font and how versatile it looks. To prove the versatility, my fabulous fellow forum ladies have created some really gorg layouts using the font! It was super difficult for me to pick a few to highlight; this month the layouts for the font challenge were simply outstanding! Here a few to get your scrapping mind a’ tickin’!

Wow, wow, WOW! The layouts this month are just all KNOCKOUTS! I just can’t say enough about how talented the GS ladies are–seriously! I’d even bargain to say we have the most talented scrappers in all of digiland! 😉

But enough of my loving bragging ladies, it’s time to SCRAP! Remember: all your challenges must be completed and tallied up in the May Challenge Points Tracking thread before it’s closed on June 1 for counting. What prizes are up for grabs, you ask? How does a serious store discount coupon OR a $5 gift certificate sound? AMAZING? Yes, indeed. 🙂

There might only be a few days left in May, but that’s plenty of time for you to hunker down and churn out some layouts and earn yourself a treat! If you have any questions on this or any of our other monthly challenges, head over to the Cookie Jar and ask away. We got loads of smart cookies just waiting to help you!

I’m off for now ladies; have a wonderful rest of your week and see you all next month! 😀

Challenge Spotlight – Scraplift Challenge

Happy Tuesday, ladies! Hope this finds everyone well and starting off the week well! We’re already closing in on the end of May (WHAT?!) so now is crunch time for getting your challenges completed!  This week I am spotlighting the scraplift challenge hosted by Sophie of Keep In Touch Designs! We are lifting this really lovely layout from Cherrylej:

Replicating the beauty and detail of this layout may be a little daunting, but the ladies in the forum are seriously doing a great job with this one. Let me share a few of my favorites with you for inspiration!  🙂

Sheesh, if I could post every single layout done for this lift, I WOULD! The pages in the forum are really beautiful; definitely take a minute to stop by and look at them all and leave these ladies some love in the gallery!

Hmm, I seem to have forgotten to mention something really cool: Sophie has been generous enough to offer a bonus incentive for the scraplift challenge this month!  Once all the layouts are in at the end of the month, she is going to do a random drawing for a $5 coupon to her store! That’s incentive enough to get you scrapping, right?! Thanks, Sophie!

Alright, I’ll leave you now to start wrapping up those challenges, ladies! Make sure you’re keeping track of your completed layouts in the May Challenge Points Tracking thread. If you’re new to GingerScraps (welcome!) and you have questions about this or any of our other monthly challenges, be sure to stop by the Cookie Jar and drop a line; someone will definitely have an answer to your question! 🙂

Everyone have a wonderful rest of their week, get those layouts in and I will see you all back here next week for the last challenge spotlight for May (eek!). Much love to you all! 🙂

Challenge Spotlight – Color Challenge

Hello and another happy Tuesday to all the lovely blog readers! 🙂 Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. I was SWAMPED all weekend long so I am exhausted and ready to just sit and scrap!

So, need a little push to scrap? An incentive? How about a discount coupon or gift certificate to the GingerScraps store?! Yeah, I think that’s a pretty good incentive to get to scrapping! This week I am spotlighting the color challenge hosted by JoyLynn of Blue Heart Scraps!

She has picked this bright and cheery palette for us to work with this month:

So pretty, I love it for spring and summer! To sweeten the pot, the ever-generous JoyLynn has even given you a paper pack freebie to get you started on the challenge; thanks, JoyLynn! 🙂

These colors are just great and the paper pack is such a sweet gesture to give everyone a start. She’s also suggested some kits in the store that coordinate! Need to see the colors in action? Here’s some inspiration to get you going!

Ahh, they’re all so pretty and colorful! Can you tell I like bright colors? Hehe. Even more, I like bragging on my fellow GS forum gals, these are fantastic, gals; you’re all so talented! 🙂

So you’ve got some pretty colors to play with and an awesome freebie to boot! If you participate in the challenge, leave a comment in the May color challenge thread with a link to your layout in the gallery so we can leave you some love! Make sure to track your points and remember, if you have any questions about this or any of our other challenges, or how the points work, head on over to the Cookie Jar and someone will help you ASAP!

Take care and I’ll see you all next week with the next challenge spotlight! 🙂

Challenge Spotlight – Mini Kit Challenge

Good morning and happy May, everyone! Can you believe it’s May already? For those of us experiencing temperatures already in the 90s, it seems more like July: BLECH! Instead of roasting in the “spring” heat, let’s stay indoors, get some scrapping done and earn a discount coupon/gift certificate to the store, shall we? It’s time for the May challenges!

Let’s start the month off right–with a freebie! This month’s mini kit challenge is brought to you by Kathy Winters Designs and trust me when I say you’ll want to rush over to the forum and grab this mini ASAP! Take a look at what she made for us to work with this month:

B-E-A-UTIFUL! I love the colors and that little birdie is just so cute.  What will you make with this? A layout, a hybrid card? This is really fitting for all things spring and of course, perfect for those Mother’s Day pictures!

Here are some awesome layouts already completed by the talented ladies of the Gingerscraps forum!

Excellent creations, ladies! Those have definitely inspired me to jump on this challenge right away. I love how the same mini kit can take on so many different lives with the hands of a different artist, don’t you? Seriously indicative of the talent we have here at Gingerscraps! 🙂

Ok dear readers, now it’s YOUR turn! Swing by the forum and grab Kathy’s mini kit and get to scrapping! Make sure you grab your spot on the May Challenge Points Tracking thread and start tallying your progress towards a discount or gift certificate! (I’m trying to make May my third month in a row to hit 13–woohoo!) As always, any questions on this or any of the monthly challenges can be directed towards the Cookie Jar.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week, a good start to the month and a HAPPY NSD! (May the odds be ever in your favor!)

Challenge Spotlight – Template Challenges

Good morning, my lovely ladies! It’s Tuesday and you know what that means–another challenge spotlight!

This is your last full week to get your challenges in for a super nifty store discount coupon or gift certificate! And who doesn’t want that? (Seriously, who? Because I’ll volunteer to take yours if you don’t want it!) The points thread closes on the 1st of May, so get your challenges tallied up and entered!

Since this is the last spotlight of the month, I am going to give you a double dose of awesomeness with two easy challenges that each come with a freebie (isn’t free your favorite price?!): Sugar Kissed Designs’ first April template challenge and Craft-tastrophic’s second April template challenge!

You know how these work: we have one template for the first half of April and another for the second half, but you can still get both right now and knock two challenges out!

First, let’s take a look at Terra’s template for the first half of April!

Gorgeous, right? This one is perfect for showcasing multiple photos to tell a story! Let’s see how our fabulous forum gals did on this one!
