Challenge Spotlight – Word Art Challenge

Happy Tuesday, y’all! Can you believe it’s already the third week of August?! It’s insanity! School is about to start (woohoo!), summer is fading away (hopefully sooner than later on that one), the new fall lines are out (sorry, I work in fashion)… August is about to be over and here we come, fall! But before I keep rambling and the month ends while you’re reading this, let’s get to the challenge spotlight for this week, shall we? 🙂

This week I am spotlighting the word art challenge hosted by the ever-lovely Kathy of Kathy Winters Designs! Speaking of August, her word art freebie focuses on just that–the month of August! It’s really pretty and great for any layout…enough talk, let’s see it!

I know, right? It’s flipping awesome! I love the mix of fonts here and the WA just lends itself to being the focal point of all kinds of fabulous layouts. Need some examples of it in action? Thought you’d never ask!

Good morning, ladies! Hope everyone’s week is off to a fabulous start! I’m already ready for the weekend LOL. Let’s get straight to my challenge spotlight for this week. Today I’m spotlight a FREEBIE challenge…and isn’t free everyone’s favorite price? 😉 This week we’re taking a look at the July Mini Kit Challenge hosted by Kathy of Kathy Winters Designs! I just love Kathy’s designs and this cute mini is no exception. Here’s what she’s got for us this month:

Let’s Get Crafty: Halloween Crafts

Hi GingerScrapers! I know..I know..I have missed a few Crafty Thursdays…I’m sorry! I have been so busy. I am the team Mom for the Freshmen Football team…our games are on Thursdays. But, not only is it the games, we feed the team and caoches before each game. It’s a big meal and I’m in charge of it!  I have to be at the school at 7am to collect all the food from the players. Make sure the food all gets warmed up by the lunch ladies, then serve the food at 2…game time at 5. So, what I’m saying here is…I’m a busy girl during Football sason 🙂 This week my kids don’t have school. We still have a football game though, but I dont have to collect the food until noon:) So, I figured I would do a little Let’s Get Crafty post for you!

Halloween is in like 10 days. I went online to find some cheap and easy Halloween projects to do with my kids and I am going to share them with you!

This first one is a great way to use up all those baby food jars you have laying around..

How about making a “Hybrid Banner” Instead of fabric, use your digital scrapbooking supplies! There are so many cute Halloween kits at GingerScraps you could use! How about I give you a free template to make yourself a banner 🙂

Here is my Bio for you lovely Gingery peeps-
Tara is a SAHM to one wee Geeklet, Kat- and wife to a very nerdy husband, Tim. Originally from West Virginia, she’s a reluctant Michigan transplant- who will obviously do anything for love (or meatloaf) including live in the middle of a frozen state. Tara has been dabbling at designing since May of 2009, and was dragged kicking and screaming out of the designer closet by her friends in October of 2009, at which point she started doing it seriously. Tara is truly a real life Geek- she met her husband playing Everquest 2, has a standing date with her Dungeons and Dragons group every other week, and takes great pride in being as weird as she wants to be. Geek Chic (actually pronounced Sheek) is actually a term coined to define geeks and nerds that were actually cool, or things that were cool in the geek world- a perfect design name for this Soopa Geek.   Tara

I have been designing for about 2 1/2 years now, and love the create outlet. I have made so many friends in the digi world. A little more about me if I may… I married my JR. High sweetheart, and if we make it till July we will be married 34 years. We have 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. If our children are the delight of our lives, then our 2 grandchildren are the love of our lives! I love being a “Gramsie” and that is actually the motivation behind me getting into digi scrapping!.
