Creative Style – Scrapping with Leaves

Here in the states it is technically Autumn. Although, in the south eastern side of things it doesn’t feel like it. We had summer temps last week. No joke! The hot weather I am dealing with aside, it is Autumn none the less.

To me, when I think Autumn, I think leaves!…and well scrapping. Hands-down this time of year brings my favorite digital scrapbooking supplies to the stores. I just love the colors of the Autumn kits, all the leaves, and the nature feel to it all.

Today though we are going to talk about scrapping with leaves. Digital scrapbooking with leaves to be more precise. I will show you some fun examples here in the store I found that should get those creative juices flowing. We will end today’s post with some great digital scrapbooking supplies from here at GingerScraps to get those leave inspired layouts scrapped. (All images are linked to either their counterpart in the store or the gallery.)

One of my favorite things to do with leaves on a digital scrapbooking layout is to cut them out into the page with a patterned background behind it. This is a great example of that! You could also get this effect by overlaying your favorite paper on top of a leaf you like in a kit (or shape in your program). Then shadow it to look like a cut out.

One of my favorite things about digital scrapbooking (besides actual scrapping) is the online community. Siggies in forums are a fun part of that!

You can also take fun photos with leaves, to scrap. Here are two great examples of that. One of them being super fun; and the other one showing the beauty that is nature.

You can also use a cut out to make a great focal point or background to a title for your layout. See below for this exact template!

Leaves are also one of the best (in my opinion) items to use for clustering. Framing a photo or anything really is another great use for leaves. Let us not forget the beautiful leaf-patterned papers and more.

There are a lot of uses for leaves in digital scrapbooking. The examples above are just a slight glimpse into what you can do. Now that your mind is thinking about leaves and how to scrap them, here are some great items from the store to scrap with!

In The Spotlight – totallycre8tive

Another Saturday is here, we are heading to the end of October already, and another edition of In the Spotlight. Today’s spotlight will be shining on one of the most busy ladies in digital scrapbooking land. Teresa…otherwise known as totallycre8tive. You can usually find her at a sports event for her kiddos, or behind the scene here. She is a talented scrapbooker as well. Let us take a look at some of her layouts. Some of my favorites from her gallery. All images are linked; and I hope you leave with some great inspiration!

Teresa really knows how to fill a layout out, without it feeling cluttered. I always enjoy her use of papers, especially patterned ones. She also has wonderful and fun photos! There doesn’t seem to be a kit or a theme she cannot scrap. I hope you find inspiration from her gallery as I have! Happy scrapping!

From the Archives Vol. 7

Hello scrappers! Are you fully recovered from DSD and ready to scrap?! I pray that all our scrappy family members that are and have been in the path of Hurricane Matthew are safe-and-sound!

I am here today to help you with just that! We are going to take a look back in the store and look at some oldies…but goodies! What archives? Well, we are going to show you some digital scrapbooking supplies that are in the store that are at least a year old. Usually older than that.  Some of us may be new to digital scrapbooking or new to GingerScraps. Some people don’t check the store every week. Basically, things can and do get lost in the weekly shuffle of the store. With that in mind, we are going to go back and look at some great products. Our hope is that you find some great things you might have been looking for; or find something that you didn’t know you needed but totally do now that you see it! 🙂

This month’s From the Archives, we are going to take a look at Doodles. Doodles are a great addition to any digital scrapbooking layout. Usually they have the hand-drawn (or actually are hand-drawn) look to them. Some doodles have paint look to them; and some doodles have little elements with them. You can check out all the Doodles in the store HERE. Here are just a few of them from back in the Archives. Images are linked to the store.

Scrapping with Pumpkins

Are you in full scrapping mode today?! Today is the official day of DSD. I have been scrapping like mad. Do you know what October also brings with it? All things pumpkins! That is what we are going to talk about today. Scrapping with Pumpkins.

I was looking around on Pinterest and found some really cool ideas on inputting pumpkins in your digital scrapbooking layouts. Here are just a few of them that I love. (Images are linked to source.)

Scrapping with Pumpkins

You will be hard pressed to find any digital scrapbooking kit without at least one button in it. Take a look through your stash. FInd all those orange, yellowish, brown, and green buttons. How cool would this be on a digital scrapbooking layout?

I am absolutely going to do this on one of my digital scrapbooking layouts for my sister's book. This is such a cute idea. You can find a lot of pumpkin templates out there (see below) to accomplish this. You can also cut your photos whatever shape you want and just place them on your pumpkin paper with the right shadow work to look like they are cut out.

Let’s Celebrate! Autumn (Fall)

GS_blog_LetsCelebrate_Header

Good morning GingerScrap’s scrappers! I don’t know about you, but here in the southern part of the States, it is starting to look a lot like Autumn! It is my favorite time of the year. From cooler weather, changing colors, holidays, and pumpkins. All these things make this season the best! We should of course scrap it, right? Never fear. GingerScraps has so much to offer when it comes to scrapping seasons. Autumn is no exception. There is even a whole category dedicated to it. Today, we are going to take a look at just a few of those items. Get ready for all things Autumn! (items linked to the store).

Handwritten Fonts

Good morning scrappers. Team member La’Shawn here to talk about fonts. I think it comes with the scrappy territory…font addiction. I don’t think I’ve met a scrapper who didn’t have more fonts than they could ever use. That being said, if you are anything like me, you never stop to think about adding another font to your collection. I went searching around and found 6 handwritten fonts to share with you. Handwritten fonts are my favorite! One of these days I am going to actually get my handwriting done for my own pages. So, here you go.

My favorites are always the ones with the little additions to them. Little hearts and smiles. All these fonts are free. I will link them up below for you. I hope you like them. If you make a page with them, come back and link us up in the comments!

Be Pinspired | Scrapping with Shapes

GS_blog_BePinspired_Header

Good morning scrappers! Today finds me doing all that. I got to thinking about scrapping with shapes. I am usually a square/rectangle photo kind of scrapper. Paper layering too. I tend to shy away from different shapes. I am not sure why. That is just how I scrap. So, I got to looking around on pinterest and found some fun layouts with different shapes. I am here right now to show you those & hope you find some inspiration as I did. (all images linked to their pin).

Great use of circles! So many photos & a great way to get them all on your page. Very little (to no) elements used. Really brings one’s focus to the fun photos.

I really wish I had taken more preggers photos to scrap. This would, hands down, be one of the pages I scrapped. I love the ultra sound photo in the tummy.

love love love this idea!! Very little elements and great focus on the photos. I really like the string/stitching to pull it all together. Great idea & fun shaped layout.

No elements and little to no paper! This layout doesn’t need it. These photos are all the focus and great layout to do that!

These are just a few of the ideas I found on pinterest. I absolutely am going to take that bottom and and scraplift it. Did any of them stick out to you? Got another fun shaped layout to share? Let us share ideas and inspiration! Link us up!
