Pinspiration | Big Titles

GS_blog_BePinspired_Header

Happy Saturday scrappers! I was perusing around Pinterest today looking for ideas. I stumbled upon a lovely layout (will show you below) with a big title. That got my scrappy gears moving in my brain. So, I thought I would share that inspiration with you.

So often we allow the photos or a great paper to be the focal point of our layout. We plop a title on at the very end of it all (if we do at all). Personally, I struggle with coming up with a great title. Really, as I scrap mostly my son, I feel like slapping “Isaiah” on every page. lol. I searched “scrapbook big title” on Pinterest & was inspired! Here are some great examples of making the title your focal point. Making a statement with a big title.

I really like the idea of the large number that signifies something. It works at the title as well as a great backdrop. The choice of alpha allows for the large number to blend perfectly to the layout & not over power it. Who doesn’t have a number that is significant to them. A person’s age, an anniversary, or a reunion. The next time you are scrapping a memory that has a significant number marker, think about making that your focal point. Scrap it with a big title!

This really is the focal point of the layout. I really like how the paper is cut around the title. I feel like when it is time for me to go to the beach, I want to yell it to everyone. Just go around yelling, “BEACH!” lol. This large titled layout really brings all the pretty and fun beach photos together. Your eyes are drawn to the large title to start with. At the same time, it is bringing your eyes to the photos around it. This would make a great title page to a vacation book too!

Creative Style | Pocket Scrapbooking

Here we are already. The last week in January. Didn’t it just turn 2018? Before we know it we will be looking at the end of this year! It flies by faster and faster with each passing year. That being said, I am not here to complain about time flying. 🙂 I am here to talk about scrapbooking styles. You know: fantasy, pocket, traditional, and everything in between. Some people scrap only one style. Some people (like myself) will scrap one style one day and another a next. I like to mix things up.

One thing I’ve really not scrapped is those great pocket pages. I love to cluster a bit too much. Those pages are lovely though! So neat, clean, and brought together. The perfect touch of elements and patterned paper. So what is “pocket scrapbooking” actually?

When scrapping with paper, pocket scrapbooking usually used page protectors that can be divided into smaller pockets. These pockets are arraigned in many different ways on the page. In each pocket usually the things that are included are photos, cards, and journaling. Of course it isn’t limited to that either. Ticket stubs, hospital bracelets, receipts, and so are are great additions to the pockets. In digital scrapbooking we take basically the same approach. Some of the digital scrapbooking versions of pocket scrapbook layouts have photos and such tucked in actual (digital) pockets. Those are my favorite. Others are just wonderfully blocked layouts. Some with stitches around the blocks, and of course some without. Usually there is more focus on the memories, photos, and papers than lots of elements filling the pages.

These layouts jump out of the galleries! So, that is what I did. I stalked the gallery and am here to show of some of those great pocket scrapbook pages that are filling the GingerScraps gallery. We will round up today’s Creative Style post with some great items from GingerScrap’s store to create your own pocket layouts.

Here are those layouts I mentioned. All are linked to their counterparts in the gallery. If you are so inclined, run over there and give these guys some gallery love!

From the Archives – 2017

Well scrappers, this is the last creative blog post of 2017. It is also the last Saturday of 2017. Which means yesterday’s Fresh Baked goodies were the last goodies for 2017. I know I say it every year. I am going to say it again. Where did 2017 get to? I feel like it was just January and we were gearing up for the new year.

Instead we are rounding up 2017; and today we are going to take a look back in the archives. Usually I go back as far as I can in the store to showcase the oldies but goodies of the digital scrapbooking supplies here at GingerScraps. Today’s From the Archives post will be a little different. We are going to take a look back at 2017.

In 2017 we saw other stores close. It is always so sad to see that happen. However, we did gain some amazing designers, staff, and faces around the forum and galleries. We also gained some new friends because of that. There is no doubt about it though. We saw some great designs from our designers here at GignerScraps this year. We had 52 Fresh Baked releases. I would love to show you at least one from each week. I don’t want to overwhelm your sense though. Instead, I am going to show you some of my favorites from 2017. I realize that not all tastes are the same. That my favorite isn’t going to be yours. I do hope you enjoy this look back at 2017 though. Brought to you by our talented designers here at GingerScraps.

GS_blog_GingerBreadGirlsInspiration_Header

Good Monday morning scrappers!! Can you believe that the end of the year is just a few short weeks away? That (if you celebrate) Christmas is just around the corner?! What happened to 2017?! It has flown by!! In thinking of how fast 2017 skipped on by, I got to thinking. We have not had a GingeerBread Girl highlight here on the blog in a while. So we are going to do just that.

For those who are not familiar with the titles around GingerScraps, a GingerBread Girl is a creative team member. Those ladies who work hard to bring all those kits you love to action. Today, we are going to pull a bit of inspiration from:

Alanna aka: alannabanana

Check out her full gallery HERE.

I was stalking the galleries and Alanna’s jumped out to me. She scraps with beautiful composition on everyone I saw. Her cluster work is amazing. I love clustering on layouts. I have to say a number of her layouts have made it to my inspiration board! She also has perfect shadow work; and she really knows how to use her scrap space. Be it a whitespace layout or a page full of digi-scrap goodies. Here are a few of my favorite from her gallery:

I told you that her gallery has some amazing inspiration! These are just a drop in the water. Go check out her GALLERY and look around. If you find yourself scraplifting and finding something that speaks to you in inspiration, let us know! Come back and link up your layout. We would love to see it. Happy Scrapping!

Let’s Celebrate – Summer!

Winter is just around the corner where I live. We actually don’t get much of a winter here though. Usually we just get a bit cold, and that is it. We hardly see any snow. When we do, it shuts us down. We just cannot handle it. Such is the life of the Southern parts of the States. That being said, it is heading into Summer for you guys in the Southern Hemisphere. With that in mind we are going to take a look at a lot of the great Summer things we have in the store to scrap those layouts. I am a cold weather loving gal. Looking at all these Summer goodies though makes me miss those long summer nights and the swimming pool.

Therefore we have so many great items spanning pages and pages. If you don’t see something you like in today’s post, you can always check out the store for more.
