I’m back! Did you miss me? I missed you guys that was for sure. Our vacation was perfect though. The kids had a blast, the mountain views (in NH) were beautiful, and the shopping was fun. We did so much up there but really the most fun was just looking at the mountains. Gosh they were stunning. Mother Nature just amazes me sometimes. The worst part about all of this was coming home to the piles and piles of laundry. Why can’t vacation end with a clean house and no laundry to come home to.

It was great seeing the designers hard at work that is for sure. I can’t wait to show you all the neat stuff they have to offer. Can I just say for a minute though – Jen Yurko? Seriously? We have been getting to know eachother in the private designer forum at GS, and I know you are all going to just love her! She is a perfect addition to the GingerSraps family!!

Here is a little bit more about her…..

She is a 32, stay at home mom to 6 year old twin girls. Which is obviously how she got her design name.

She paper scrapped for over 10 years before she found digital scrapbooking.
She got really into digital scrapbooking after she broke her back in an auto accident in 2007.
During a painful recovery, she couldn’t do much else, but sit on the couch with her laptop. So she scrapped and scrapped!
Then she wanted to know how the amazing designers were creating such beautiful kits.
She reached out to a few designers for some tips and she was on her way. She considers herself a self-taught designer.
So she has been designing since 2008 or so and hasn’t looked back…and can’t go a day without her laptop!!!

Isn’t she so sweet?!?!

Here is a little more about Jen:

I’m a 38yo stay at home mom, married to the most awesome man on the planet 😉 We are an army family… DH has been career all the way. Which really doesn’t bother me, having grown up a Navy brat. Between the two of us, we have 7 children… ages 19, 17, 16, 13, 12, 11 & 8… plus a cat and a dog. I’ve been digi-scrapping for about 3 1/2 years now, designing for a little over 2 of those years. I love the creative process and have recently switched gears in my designing to include more doodlage and less purchased CU. There are CU designers out there that are just too good to pass up though 😉 Aside from digital scrapbooking & designing, I love making blinkies & banners, I dabble in web design, and I am hooked on Mario games for our Wii. No more sleeps! That’s right – today is the last day of school. WOO! Well, maybe not that exciting since the fighting has already started but phew for no more watching the clock. Are you wondering what sleeps have to do with anything? My youngest only understands time if we talk about sleeps (being nights). Do any of you have any water I can have? I’m sitting here at my computer just melting. The heat index has the temperature up at 105 degrees. Fresh Baked! 6/1

Happy June 1st! Kinda feels like summer hearing that huh? Are your kids (grandkids) out of school for the summer? It seems like everyone I talk to has started their summer vacation. Us though? Nope. Not even close. My guys go until June 24th…so close yet so far away. Luckily for them the last few weeks are filled with field trips (one is actually today), field day (photo ops!), and picnics. Almost seems like a waste but at least I’ll have lots of chances to take pictures.

I know you didn’t come here to listen to me ramble about the last few weeks of school. You came here to find out what is new this month. Let’s jump right in and…..

I’m sorry everyone. Ever since I sat down to start working on the newsletter Ginger has been trying to jump in here to talk to you. I suppose since she is the boss I will give her a minute to talk to you. Don’t worry, I gave her a time limit there is just so much I want to tell you about. OK! OK! Ginger – your turn!!

Hi wonderful GingerScraps family 🙂

I wanted to thank you all for your continued support! I know it is hard when our GingerBread Ladies leave us. Saying goodbye to Ellie and Joelle (Daphadilly) is hard for us all. And I am so sad to announce that Michaela (Marshmella) will also be retiring from her design career. There comes a point in a designers career where they just need a break, sometimes the break ignites their passion once again and they come back better than ever, and sometimes they discover a new exciting adventure to pursue. Our doors will stay open to all of them, should they ever decide to return to Digi Scrap Design, and they have all have promised to keep in touch.

Now lets find the silver lining……

Fresh Baked! 5/27

Long time no talk! It’s been such a long time since you’ve heard from me huh? I can’t believe it’s been two full days! What have you been up to? Yeah, nothing much here either. I do want to take a mintue though to check in with our friends in the mid-west. On behalf of Ginger, myself, and the entire staff at GingerScraps, you all have our thoughts and prayers. The weather has definitely been crazy, we just hope it quiets down soon.

Since this is the last newsletter of the month we have some lose ends we need to tie up. I’m not really sure where to start though. I supposed I should start with the sad news of another designer leaving. Daphadilly Art is retiring from designing. We are all so sad to hear this, but are happy for her and her new journey. Her store is all marked on sale with most items being 50% off. Make sure you grab them while you can!
