Fresh Baked: March 01, 2013

Bye February! You never stay around long enough for us to even adjust to the fact that it’s a new month, and then you’re gone. Can you believe that we’re at March already? Sixteen days until green beer, gold coins, and when everyone becomes Irish. At least that’s how it feels. As the mom of a St. Patrick’s Day child, it’s a fun holiday for us to celebrate.

The colors surrounding March seems to always be rainbows, and this month’s buffet is no exception. It’s such a fun and happy buffet, as well. You’ll be saying “Lucky Me” when you scrap with it!

The designers really showed their playful sides with this buffet!

Tracy of Trixie Scraps Designs!

Tracy, aka Trixie of Trixie Scraps Designs, happily opens her shop with us today! She has over 10 years of experience as a scrapbooker, beginning first with paper and switching to digi in 2007. In October 2008, she opened her first store as a digital designer and has never looked back! Tracy just recently relocated to the Kansas City area with her husband Erick and their two dogs, Diamond and Lucy. She’s a devoted aunt to three nieces, one nephew (and one on the way) and she spends a lot of time with her cousin’s three little boys, as well. She loves popcorn-flavored Jelly Bellys, Mexican food, country music and reality TV. Good morning! We have had a lot of snow in this area. We haven’t seen this much snow since 2011. It’s sort of crazy how much snow we had. It makes me very thankful that we have a four-wheel-drive vehicle in which my husband can drive to work. The kids are enjoying the snow days, though.

This week, I only chose one Buffet layout to showcase because we have TWO Monthly Mixes releasing.

Fresh Baked: Feb. 15, 2013

Happy Day after Valentine’s. Anyone else gorge themselves way too much on chocolate? I know that I did. I think that’s the point of Valentine’s Day. Right? Oh well if it’s not. It’s how we celebrate it.

I am loving looking at the love-filled layouts with this month’s buffet, Listen to Your Heart. I picked from the Buffet Challenge gallery this week, and if you’re wanting an “easy” challenge to do, this is definitely one for you!

Fresh Baked: February 08, 2013

Happy Friday, y’all! Today is hopefully going to be a good day for everyone! I’m expecting a nice package to arrive at my local Best Buy and I’m seriously excited for it! I won’t be all braggy but my husband is excited to be able to use the desktop again is all I’m going to say. I cannot wait to be able to FINALLY scrap in the bedroom, in the quiet, so I can laugh as loudly as I want during Friday’s Night Owls speed scraps!

Speaking of scrapping, I was checking out the gallery to showcase some layouts, and y’all really seem to be enjoying this buffet, Listen To Your Heart! I love seeing all of the layouts y’all create, and wow, you guys always make it so hard to choose which to showcase! Keep it up, though. I love sitting at the computer and looking!

Fresh Baked: January 25, 2013

Goodness, it’s been getting cold, then a warm snap, and then BOOM, cold again here in Kansas. I’m shivering, it seems, all day. Thankfully, while not getting too hot, the computer adds a little bit of warmth. Too bad it’s not a laptop, or I’d have a nice built-in little heater.

At least the cold gives me a nice excuse to stay inside and scrap. I can scrap about my hope for the warmer temperatures, and my dreams for how I want to spend my Spring Break. Can you BELIEVE how fast January is going? We’re already at the LAST Fresh Baked newsletter for January. There’s some big news coming MONDAY, so keep an eye out for that, but next Friday will be February 01! :O I’m not so sure how I feel about this time going by so fast. I’m ready for a break from it. Who’s with me?

Well, nothing I can do about it for now. Instead, I’ll just spend my time ogling over the beautiful layouts that I’m finding in the gallery. I always have the hardest time choosing which ones to showcase. I love the struggle though! It makes it fun!! This week, I chose one layout using the Hopes and Dreams buffet and two using the new January Monthly Mix, Winter Romance. It’s such a beautiful and sweet kit! I can’t get enough of it personally!

This beautiful layout was created by scrapjrlgcp. I just love the naked baby bum. Such a sweet and happy little boy! That grin is just infectious!

Another layout by scrapjrlgcp. I swear I didn’t know it when I chose them. I didn’t even LOOK at the creators of the layouts. I just saw the GORGEOUS blend and I had to share it!

A layout from sladd79054. I chose this because I know that face. I’ve seen that face on my own son. The cluster work on this is just amazing. So beautifully done. I’m super jealous because I cannot cluster like that!

Fresh Baked: New Designer

Good morning! I hope that your Monday wasn’t too hectic. If it was, maybe this will bring a smile to your face!

Two big things are happening at Gingerscraps. One is that we have a new designer joining the team! Theresa, of Simple Girl Scraps!

We asked, as always, for Theresa to tell us a little about herself, and this what she had to share:

Hi Everyone! My name is Theresa, aka Simple Girl Scraps. I’m a 28 year old Canadian and a creative enthusiast! I love all things creative and crafty! I started scrapbooking when I was in middle school and started digiscrapping nearly 5 years ago when I moved to Japan and had limited access to scrapbooking supplies! I started designing 2 and a half years ago with some encouragement from a friend and I love it!
Other things I love: vintage cameras, owls, cooking, thrifting, quilting, running, and weight lifting!

Oh wow. She’s lived in Japan. That’s so cool! I can’t wait to hear more about it!

Fresh Baked: December 14, 2012

Oh man, oh man! I am so excited! Christmas is just around the corner. Hanukkah is currently happening. There are so many wonderful things, holiday-wise, going on! I work with the Girl Scouts (I’m a Daisy leader, in fact), and this weekend, we’re making ornaments and going to nom on some delicious cake balls. I’m excited, even though they’re calling for rain instead of snow.

The lack of snow is made tolerable by the amazing layouts I’m seeing in the gallery though. I’m amazed, each week, as I go in, and try and pick out just a few layouts that I just adore. All of you, those who share your layouts with us, are amazing, and create just the most beautiful layouts! Thank you!

Fresh Baked: Happy December

Can you believe it’s already December? Thirty-one more days, and we’ll be looking at 2013!

The winds are blowing in from the north, and the breath is visible in the air. There are white flakes falling from the sky. The winter season is upon us, and it’s time to prep for the snow.

Some areas have already had snow come to their areas, and I will be honest. I am completely jealous. I was born during a snowfall. Being a December baby, you tend to end up with that. Lately, we haven’t seen any snow. It makes me sad. Hopefully, we get some this year.

Why, you ask, am I going on about snow? It’s time for a new buffet! This month’s theme is snow, snow, and more snow! Snowball Fight!

Snowball Fight is full of fun elements and papers, just perfect for all of those snow pictures. If you don’t have any snow pictures, pictures of the beach would work just fine, I think. Even something Christmas related would be perfect!

Fresh Baked for November 30, 2012

I am so thankful that we all survived this month together. Is it just me or did it fly by? Can you believe that tomorrow is December. Just a few more days left in 2012. I’m also thankful that it’s that time of year to share our Christmas stuff. I love Christmas lights.

I’ve been playing The Nutcracker music on repeat lately. It is one of my most favorite things of the holidays. I adore the ballet. I love the music. And I have an obsession with the figurines. Anyone else adore them?
