Good Morning, Gingerscraps fans! In the States, yesterday was Thanksgiving, the day of remembering all that we are thankful for.

We are so lucky to be a part of this world, one that allows us to connect with someone so easily via the internet. I’m so thankful that I have friends that I have “met”, and I love each and every single one of them. I’m quite sure you have friends you feel the same way about.

The Monthly Mix for November is “Friendship” and the Attitude of Gratitude buffet really just meshes so well. I decided to choose two buffet layouts and a third being from the Monthly Mix.

In the States, the day after Thanksgiving is full of lots of frantic shopping and great deals! Everyone is exhausted, and in dire need of some coffee and sweet treats. Gingerscraps knows all about that, so we’re having a nice little sale to help give you that boost you might need!

I cannot wait to see what’s going to be for sale. I don’t know. I really don’t! I know some kits I’m dying to have, and I hope to see them in there!

Fresh Baked: November 16, 2012

Oh my. Do I have so much to be thankful and grateful for right now. My son needed glasses. Have you ever priced those? I’m thankful that we have insurance that covered all but $5 of his exam. I wish it would have covered more for his glasses, but I am so thankful that I was able to get them for him. I am also so thankful for the friends that I have surrounded around me. Without them, I do not know where exactly I would be in life.

Speaking of friends, this week, a new monthly mix is being released. Inspired Designs, Kathy Winters, Pixelily Designs, Roseytoes, and Z Pink Boudoir Designs worked together on this amazing new collab! It is just perfect for all friendships.

Fresh Baked: Another New Designer

I love writing these newsletters! I love sharing that we have a new designer joining us. It makes me feel all giddy inside.

Today, we have ViolaMoni joining the squad here at Gingerscraps!

As we always do, we asked her tell us a little about herself, and this is what she had to share with us:

I’m Monica, aka ViolaMoni, 24yo, from Milan, a beautiful city in the north of Italy. I just finished my art studies at the university and now I’m looking for a job: my dream is to open my own studio, where I can teach painting and drawing to children and adults. I live with my parents and my old (17yo) dog, Chicco.
I love theatre, cinema and art in generally. I’m a creative person, I like painting, drawing, photography ….but I don’t like cooking! 😉
I hope you like my designs!

Oh, I have always wanted to go to Milan! I bet it is just absolutely GORGEOUS there!

Fresh Baked: A New Designer

Wow. I don’t know about you, but iDSD just about wiped me out! It was so much fun, though, wasn’t it?

Well, the fun continues today, because we at Gingerscraps are pleased, and excited, to announce the opening of a new designer: Matilda Designs!

As always, we ask our new designers to share with us a little about themselves. Here’s what Valerie had to say:

I’m Valérie, and my designer name (Matilda designs) is inspired in my little girl’s name. 😉
I’m a 30 something years old, I was born and raised in France but I live in Northern Portugal for many years now with my husband and my 3 yo little princess. I love everything about arts and crafts in general.
I discovered paper scrap back in 2006, and its digital version in 2008. I immediately fell in love with this digital art (and I knew right away I was one step away from designing!), but due to professional reasons I couldn’t start right away… So, I started to scrap in 2009/2010 after my girl was born, and I rapidly started to participate in collaborative kits in the forums as I was too curious about the way designers created their kits. I started selling my products 1 year and a half ago, and now, here I am, with this fabulous family at GS!!

AWW! I love that she’s already seeing us as family here at Gingerscraps. What could be better?

Fresh Baked: November 02, 2012

I have so much to be grateful for right now that I can’t even begin to explain it! So much good stuff is going on. iDSD has officially begun, and the sales are amazing. Today, I get to show you the grab bags the designers have put together for it! We also have a new designer joining our team! Sandy Pie Creations!

Before I do, though, I have to show off a few of the layouts that have been created using the newest buffet, Attitude of Gratitude. It was so hard to limit myself to just three this week! There are so many great ones to choose from!

Created by beckyroy. I love the big use of the stamped title. And the adding of the same title in the tab really makes the layout work so beautifully.

Created by beckyroy. I swear, I didn’t know I chose the same person twice. I was only looking at the layouts. I just loved the “Brudder” part. It really made the layout speak to me, in a fashion.

Don’t forget about iDSD!! There’s a LOT going on!

The sale has been extended to the 9th, so that those affected by Sandy are able to get their power back. Our thoughts and prayers are with the NE of the United States at this time, hoping for a fast recovery to a normalcy.

Now I get to share with your our newest designer!!

Hi, my name is Sandy. I grew up an Air Force brat mostly in the midwest, but went to 7 different elementary schools. I married an Air Force guy and a few years ago we finally left military life and beautiful Las Vegas to settle down as close to family as we could get, and ended up in Northern Minnesota, only a 8 hour drive from “home”. When I’m not scrapbooking (!) I am a SAHM to two boys, 13 & 9, and blushing bride to my dear Hubs of 7 years. And a Pinterest and Ancestory.com addict. We’re a house full of animal lovers with 3 cats and 1 really large dog, who oddly enough thinks he’s a cat, a 128 pound cat!
I have been scrapbooking for what seems like forever, most collecting memorabilia and paper scrap supplies, but I have paper commitment issues so I didn’t get many pages done. (I have the same problem with fabric and planning the quilts I will “make” with them.) I found digi scrap a few years ago and found I could use the graphics manipulation skills I’d learned working as an engraver in an awards, trophy and framing shop to create fun 3-d projects and cards with digital designs I could reuse again and again. (My favorite part!) After some encouragement from a couple of designers I CT for, I started selling my hybrid designs a few months ago. And now I’m at Ginger Scraps, and in fantastic company.

If you couldn’t tell, she’s a hybrid designer. With Julie on a leave of absence, we’ve been short a hybrid designer! I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us! For now, she has one new item for us to play with.

Fresh Baked: New Buffet and iDSD!

Oh, hello November. Wow. October has come, she has gone. The festivals have all ended, and now we’re looking forward to, at least in the States, for Thanksgiving. Those not are starting their countdown to their winter holidays.

Or… you could be going iDSD!! DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY!! There are lots of things planned at Gingerscraps, and it’s going to be SO much fun!

The theme this month is “Attitude of Gratitude”. The colors are amazing, but honestly, I have to say the theme is my favorite. This past week has reminded me, personally, of how much we have to be grateful for. We have a roof over our head, a working computer, and pictures upon pictures to scrap. Right now, I’m set for everything. I can take anything, as long as I have the love of family and friends. Do you agree?

It’s the first of the month, so that means the Gingerbread Man is running through, sticking things in the Bake Sale! You never know what you’ll find in there!

Fresh Baked: New Designers

Oh my goodness! I’m going to attempt to not be heavy-handed with the exclamation points, but I’m not sure how successful I’m going to be. It’s going to be a hard job, that’s for sure.

Why am I so excited? I’m so glad you asked. Today, we have three, yes THREE, amazing designers joining the team here at Gingerscraps. I’m so happy I could squeal. These three ladies are amazing designers, and I’ve admired their work for so long. I feel so lucky that I get to announce who they are!

So, help me welcome Moni, of 2am Designs, Angela, of Angelclaud ArtRoom, and Marleen, of Kokon Scrap-Art.

Hi there! I’m Monica (Moni), the designer behind 2 am Designs.
I’m from Argentina and I currently live in Buenos Aires with my husband and 2 kids, a boy and a girl.
I stumbled upon digital scrapbooking while surfing the web for card making ideas.
I began scrapping and designing about 3 years ago when I made my first page for a color challenge, then my first paper pack and I haven’t stopped ever since!

My name is Angela and I’m from Jakarta, Indonesia. I started digital scrapbooking around 1.5 years ago after I became a mother to a sweet little girl. Being a first time mother, I took hundreds of photos of my her and needed a better way to journal and record her development. After some searching in Google, by chance, I discovered Digital Scrapbooking. With some prior knowledge of Photoshop and all the abudance information and help in the scrapbooking community I become a digital scrapbooker.
I’ve developed my scrapbooking style after a while and realized that I just love layering and clustering. My pages don’t feel complete without them. As I scrapbook to preserve memories, it’s also important to me that the pages tell the story I want to convey. Of course, there are also times when I just want to try out a new techniques or two.
I scrap almost every day, whether it’s creating layouts or templates. When I’m not scrapping or taking care of my daughter I love to read, listen to music, and watch movies.

My name is Marleen, my designername Kokon Scrap-Art, I live with my husband and children in the Netherlands.
In late 2007 I discovered digital scrappen and I found it right away great, within the shortest times I was hooked.
I could lose so much creativity in scrapping and after a while I became CT member by a designer, later on I was in more CT teams. To try out I made a kit, people liked it and in this way I became designer. I love to design but I also love scrapping, my style is white space. My kits you can use for normal scrapping but also for white space that I always keep in mind.
I´m so very glad that I got the chance to design for Ginger, already I love it here! I hope you like my stuff and I’m very curious to know more people at Ginger, I do my best!
I’m choclat and ice cream addicted, I love also a good book but most of the time I’m creative. Two time’s a week I go paint in a studio, that’s fantastic.

Fresh Baked for October 12, 2012

I can say for sure that it’s officially fall in the Midwest. Oh, you want to know how I know? The weather is the biggest clue. We go from forties for highs to seventies. In less than twenty-four hours. The lows are sometimes barely above freezing, but they’re calling for eighties. Oh fall, how I enjoy your insanity.

It’s supposedly good for the coloring of the leaves though. Or so I’ve heard. I just know that the next couple weeks are the perfect time to head out to a pumpkin patch. Maybe explore a corn maze. Last time we went to one, we all got lost. It took us almost an hour to find our way out. They claimed it would take fifteen minutes. I guess we aren’t good at directions, LOL!

This week, there are a lot of awesome things happening. We have a new designer. Well, it’s a two designers, one name type of deal. I’ll leave you in suspense until we’re ready for that announcement. The designers have some great stuff. There’s definitely something for everyone.

But, before we get into that, we’ve chosen some gorgeous layouts using our current buffet, Fall Festival. The layouts are absolute amazing. Remember, if you want a chance of your layout being chosen for the newsletter, make sure you upload it to the gallery. If it’s not there, we won’t see it.

Fresh Baked: New Guest Designer, New Buffet, and More

I just cannot believe that September is over. It flew by! I’m excited for October though. Pumpkin patch visits will be happening. Leaves will be piling on the ground, begging to be jumped into!

This month, it’s going to be all about the festivals that happen in the fall. For my family, we look forward to Ren Fest, which we usually go to in September, but this year, we’re going in October.

Do you have a favorite festival that you look forward to going to each year? If you do, then you’ll love the new buffet created by the Gingerscraps designers! It’s called Fall Festival.

Fresh Baked for September 28, 2012

The last Friday of September is upon us. That is something about life that I don’t find so beautiful. Honestly, I don’t like how fast time moves. It just *zoom* There it goes. I’m not a fan of that at all.

The passing of time though does mean the beautifulness that is fall is fast approaching. Leaves around here are already changing colors. I was able to visit my father-in-law’s property over the weekend and capture some of the colors. I need some more practice with my camera, I think. The beauty of life: the ability to learn, and grow.

This is the last set of Life is Beautiful buffet layouts that I’ll be showing off, and you know what? I’m sad about that! There have been some absolutely amazing layouts. It was hard to just pick a few to showcase. I’m honored to be able to do it though. It was a high point of my week.
