Fresh Baked: January 25, 2013

Goodness, it’s been getting cold, then a warm snap, and then BOOM, cold again here in Kansas. I’m shivering, it seems, all day. Thankfully, while not getting too hot, the computer adds a little bit of warmth. Too bad it’s not a laptop, or I’d have a nice built-in little heater.

At least the cold gives me a nice excuse to stay inside and scrap. I can scrap about my hope for the warmer temperatures, and my dreams for how I want to spend my Spring Break. Can you BELIEVE how fast January is going? We’re already at the LAST Fresh Baked newsletter for January. There’s some big news coming MONDAY, so keep an eye out for that, but next Friday will be February 01! :O I’m not so sure how I feel about this time going by so fast. I’m ready for a break from it. Who’s with me?

Well, nothing I can do about it for now. Instead, I’ll just spend my time ogling over the beautiful layouts that I’m finding in the gallery. I always have the hardest time choosing which ones to showcase. I love the struggle though! It makes it fun!! This week, I chose one layout using the Hopes and Dreams buffet and two using the new January Monthly Mix, Winter Romance. It’s such a beautiful and sweet kit! I can’t get enough of it personally!


This beautiful layout was created by scrapjrlgcp. I just love the naked baby bum. Such a sweet and happy little boy! That grin is just infectious!


Another layout by scrapjrlgcp. I swear I didn’t know it when I chose them. I didn’t even LOOK at the creators of the layouts. I just saw the GORGEOUS blend and I had to share it!


A layout from sladd79054. I chose this because I know that face. I’ve seen that face on my own son. The cluster work on this is just amazing. So beautifully done. I’m super jealous because I cannot cluster like that!

Happy Friday! I’m ready for a nice, long, relaxing weekend. Monday is a holiday for us, and even though the kids will be home as well, I’m planning on having a nice day with my husband. I love when he’s home. Even when it’s cold, there’s nothing I’d rather be doing than being with him.

Fresh Baked: Jan. 11, 2013

Things are slowly setting back into that routine of wake-up, go to work/school, go back to bed, it seems. I’m actually happy about it. I think I like the routine. It feels weird to not have it. Anyone else like that?

I’m doing well with my resolutions of improving. It reminds me I need to do some documentation on it. Like you, I have the perfect buffet for it, the Hopes and Dreams collection. Now the problem is choosing which pieces to use. I have the same issue, trying to decide which layouts to show off!

Fresh Baked: January 04, 2013

Okay, we’ve had a few days to get used to it being 2013. I’ve already had to write it once on a check. I’m so proud of myself! I didn’t mess up with it, either! Yay! Go me. Instead, I messed up on the month. I tried to say it was December 2013. Yeah, that’s a little too far into the future. Oh well!

I still can’t believe that it’s truly 2013 though. Who has already abandoned those resolutions? Not me! Not yet. Give me time. I’m sure I will!

Fresh Baked: HAPPY NEW YEAR!

5… 4… 3… 2… 1… HAPPY NEW YEAR! Can you believe it? It’s 2013!! 2012 was filled with ups and downs, a few bumps and bruises, but plenty of good friends and love. At least it was here at Gingerscraps. Gingerscraps saw a new look, lots of new designers joining the team, and the sadness of a few leaving us.

New Year’s is the time for celebration, and for reflecting. It’s the time to set new resolutions and review the ones we made the year prior. This month’s buffet, Hopes and Dreams is perfect for that!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, we celebrate Christmas at our house, and it was a perfect day! I can not wait to see the gallery full of your beautiful holiday photographs!

I realized something crazy today … This is the last Fresh Baked Newsletter for 2012! In a few short days we will celebrate the arrival of 2013! Throw some glitter in the air and hug the ones you love, lets fill 2013 with pages and pages of memories in our scrapbooks!

Fresh Baked: December 21, 2012

Well, I asked for snow. I got the snow. I didn’t get a lot, but I really did get some. They’re hinting at a White Christmas too. What I didn’t bargain for was the ice. Or the resulting snow day. Oh well, it’s so pretty outside, looking at all the whiteness. For those in the path of “Draco”, be safe! It’s a very windy storm. It’s also a very cold storm!

This week, I decided to dip into the “Buffet Challenge” layouts. There are some amazingly beautiful layouts there!

Fresh Baked: December 14, 2012

Oh man, oh man! I am so excited! Christmas is just around the corner. Hanukkah is currently happening. There are so many wonderful things, holiday-wise, going on! I work with the Girl Scouts (I’m a Daisy leader, in fact), and this weekend, we’re making ornaments and going to nom on some delicious cake balls. I’m excited, even though they’re calling for rain instead of snow.

The lack of snow is made tolerable by the amazing layouts I’m seeing in the gallery though. I’m amazed, each week, as I go in, and try and pick out just a few layouts that I just adore. All of you, those who share your layouts with us, are amazing, and create just the most beautiful layouts! Thank you!

I’m currently so desperate for snow, I’m about ready to make snowballs out of mashed potatoes. Or mud. Something. It’s December and we hit the 70s a few days ago here in the Midwest. Insanity, I tell you. Thankfully, I have Sims 3: Seasons, so I can get my snowball fight on that way!

Speaking of Snowball Fights, I had nearly two pages in the gallery to go through! That’s awesome! Y’all are really loving the buffet, aren’t you? I had a hard time just choosing a few!

Fresh Baked: Happy December

Can you believe it’s already December? Thirty-one more days, and we’ll be looking at 2013!

The winds are blowing in from the north, and the breath is visible in the air. There are white flakes falling from the sky. The winter season is upon us, and it’s time to prep for the snow.

Some areas have already had snow come to their areas, and I will be honest. I am completely jealous. I was born during a snowfall. Being a December baby, you tend to end up with that. Lately, we haven’t seen any snow. It makes me sad. Hopefully, we get some this year.

Why, you ask, am I going on about snow? It’s time for a new buffet!  This month’s theme is snow, snow, and more snow! Snowball Fight!

Snowball Fight is full of fun elements and papers, just perfect for all of those snow pictures. If you don’t have any snow pictures, pictures of the beach would work just fine, I think. Even something Christmas related would be perfect!
