Happy Friday! Where did the week go? I’m surprised at how fast this week flew by. Can you believe it is fall already? My kids have decided to start raking leaves into piles. The sweeties didn’t realize that no leaves have really started to fall yet so their piles are tiny. I’m sure within a few weeks that will all change. Another change is the temperature. We had our first frost of the season the other night. Sunday though? It will be 81. That is one thing about living in New England, don’t like the weather? Wait 5 minutes and it will change.

New GingerBread Lady! 10/5

Guess who? Yup! It’s me with another HUGE announcement! We are very lucky here at GingerScraps to constantly grow our store. This designer that is joining us is yet another one of the designers that I stalk. As you know from last week, there are a few designers that I follow on twitter, on facebook, with newsletters, and their blogs. I just can’t seem to get enough of them. When Ginger told me that this designer will be joining us, I believe my exact words were “Are you serious?”. Since we all know that Ginger is always 100% serious I knew it had to be true. Ok, you got me. Ginger has a huge sense of humor..but this time she really was serious.

It is now time that I tell you who this designer is. Please, have a seat. I don’t want anyone to faint and get hurt. Ready? Are you sitting?

Hey guys! It’s Jennifer from Luv Ewe Designs here! I am super excited to join the Ginger Scraps team! I am a mom of three boys, a step mom to four kids and have 6 indoor kitties. Yes it can be quite crazy! During the day I am a supervisor for an agency for the mentally and physically challenged. By night, I am a mommy and photoshop junkie! I have been playing with photoshop for over 4 years. I started making siggies for a forum, then I started creating elements to make the siggies with and it grew from there! I love photoshop because you can be creative in so many ways and there is always a new technique to learn! Hope to get to know you guys and catch you in the forums!

“My name is Sherry and I’m very excited to be joining GingerScraps this month! I’ve loved taking pictures and keeping various scrapbooks throughout my life. Right after my first daughter was born, I bought my first digital camera and started doing some “scrapbooking” in various computer software programs. Then, in 2006, a friend introduced me to Photoshop and the world of digital scrapbooking. I was almost immediately drawn to the design aspect of things and opened my first store shortly thereafter. It never ceases to amaze me that there is always something new to learn. I live in Texas with my husband of eleven years and our two beautiful daughters who are ten and eight. My girls are very much opposites and there is never a dull moment with the two of them. When I am not in front of the computer you will find me baking treats for my food allergic daughter, watching old episodes of Little House on the Prairie with my girls, or experimenting with different iPhone apps as I seem to have developed an addiction to them. I love my life, my family, and this fun filled hobby!”

New GingerBread Lady!! 9/28

Surprise! I have very exciting news for all of you. We have a new designer joining us. Well, she isn’t new to designing, but is new to us. Have you ever had a designer that you just loved? One that you just dream to work with? One that you drool over everything they do? Well that is my relationship with this designer. I guess it is time that I make a confession. Hi, my name is Shannon, and I’m a designer stalker. This designer is one of the designers that I stalk.

Since I’m such a huge stalker I figured I could use this opportunity to get more information about her. This is what she had to say when I asked her to tell me…oh I mean us, more about her.

Hello! I’m Jenn of JennCk Designs. It’s so great to be here! Gingerscraps is the very first site I found back in the day when I became a reluctant digiscrapper (I’m a reformed paper scrapper lol). I’ve been designing for 2 years and digiscrapping for almost 3 years.

I’m 38 and live with my boyfriend, Wes, and my 17.5 year old kitty. In my former life (lol), I was a project manager for print and online training development. I always joke that I have tons of bad karma because most of my clients were in cigarettes, alcohol, casinos, and top 10 pharma. LOL I worked 70+ hours/week minimum for so long, my body just had enough. So, I left all of that over 3 years ago. I feel like I’m still recovering from the sleep deprivation. lol

We currently live in the Detroit, Michigan area (Dearborn), but I’ve lived all over the country. I grew-up in Upstate NY and all of my immediate family still reside there. In addition to digital scrapping and designing, I love to play games – all types. I love Farmville, Pogo Games, my Nintendo DS, board games, etc. I also love to travel and we do so as often as we can.

I am excited to be part of the Gingerscraps team and I’m amazed at how much this site has grown and developed over the years. It is all in part to the wonderful community here and lots of hard work. I’m thankful to be part of it all!

Fresh Baked! 9/23

It’s finally Friday! Well, maybe I shouldn’t say that because now I have that country song in my head. I am thankful the week is finally over. It seemed like every night this week I’ve been having to go to a school for some event or another. I’m just looking forward to a quiet weekend at home. Maybe watch some movies and hopefully find some time to start scrapping again. Yeah, I still haven’t had time to sit and scrap. What about you?

Happy Friday! Is anyone else as excited as I am about the weekend finally being here? This week was the first full week everyone was at school (Labor Day was last week, the week before we had the hurricane so school was canceled). I’m not sure what it is but I feel like I’m constantly behind the eight ball. Do you feel that way? I was talking with some of our wonderful creative team members and most feel that way. Here is a little more about Gina… in her own words,

“Hi, I’m Gina and a mother of two children, Marisa who is 7 and Tristan who is 2. I named him after Brad Pitt’s character in Legends of the Fall. I have been married for 14 years this coming October. I lived in Sarasota, FL since 2001. I started out my digi/scrapping hobby now career with paper scrapping back in 2003. I worked part time at a scrapbook store and was on the design team. I have always loved computers and before I switched my major in college to Fashion Buying and Design I majoring in Advertising with Graphic Arts. That was before it was on computers though. So when I found out about digital scrap-booking in 2007, I naturally switched over. I ended up over the years being on 11 CT’s and at the end of last summer I decided I wanted to design. I am pretty much self taught with PS and now just starting to learn Illustrator. But last November when I debuted as a guest designer, it was just templates. Only recently did I start designing kits. I am still learning and love it when I find out a new tip or trick or way of doing something in PS. I use CS 5 for both PS and Illustrator. I also use Art Rage and Repper. I can draw but not very well, so that is a goal of mine to try to draw more myself. Besides digi, I love to make jewelry and have a store at Etsy and I love reading. just got a Kindle earlier this year and am so very happy with it. I was lucky enough to go to a digi convention this past March in Vegas and will go again this coming March. Since I also work a full time 40 hour a week job, I cherish spending time with my two kiddos and only spend time on my digi after they go to bed, which means very late nights for me and hardly any sleep. I am have been so fortunate to have made some truly remarkable and lasting friendships with some of the girls I have met online through this wonderful hobby!”

Fresh Baked! 8/26

There’s a hurricane a brewin! Yeah, that is how we are living our life right now. While you are reading this I will be out buying milk, bread, and water along with tons of other New Englanders bracing for Hurricane Irene. The eye of the storm will be (as of right now) to our west which is the worst spot for it to be because of the 100 mph winds they are forecasting. Then again by the time Saturday night comes who knows where it will be. I hope you all along the East Coast are all safe and taking precautions. We definitely don’t want anyone getting hurt or any houses destroyed. Please check in with us to let us know you are all ok!

Happy Weekend! Well it happened. The time has finally come and we were left with no other options. My husband and I finally bit the bullet…and joined facebook. I know right? When my friends started seeing I was online I got 5 comments on my wall (is that the right term) with “OMG you are finally here” or “Welcome to the dark side”. I know a lot of you are already on it but my husband has been completely against it due to the lack of security, but now that things are changing a bit in our family we figured it was time to get on it. The good news about that is I’m now a fan (or is it friend…or is it I like) of GingerScraps. Do you like GingerScraps on Facebook (or is it friends or fan)?
