Tutorial Tuesday

I know all of you have been waiting patiently for this week’s tutorial. But I’m sorry to report there isn’t one. My dad (83) was admitted to the hospital (in another city) early Friday in serious condition. He’s okay, and has been discharged, but I’m mentally and emotionally exhausted. I hope to be running on all cylinders again soon. Meanwhile, stay home – flatten the curve! Take care of yourselves and the ones you love.

    I’m so glad your Daddy is doing better. Nothing is more important than taking care of your family right now. Please be kind to yourself and rest and catch up so you don’t end up sick as well. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery for your Daddy!

  5. So sorry to hear that, Jan! Hope he’s on the mend and you are staying safe, too. Not a good time to have to go to hospital!!

    Take care, it’s so hard when you are far away and can’t get to be with them. Stay safe and healthy. Hope this ends soon.

  7. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family … stay safe and healthy and here’s to hoping the new normal returns to the old normal soon.

  8. Glad he is okay. Hope he recovers quickly, and you get rest. Hugs

  9. Oh, Jan — prayers for you & your family. How scary; but so thankful that he is back home! Special prayers for you as I know it must be so hard not to be able to care for him in person. Take care!! {{{hugs!!!!}}}

  10. So sorry to hear that. It is definitely exhausting. Hugs and prayers for you and your family. My father was admitted last week and needed surgery. He is out and doing better but needs follow up care. I am two hours away in another state. It is hard to help coordinate from a distance.

  11. You can totally relate, Monica. I hope your dad continues to recover well and stays that way.

  12. Not that he’d LET me care for him, but if I catch him in a moment of weakness… Thanks for the kind thoughts.

  13. Thanks Lisa. He seems to be holding his own.

  14. Lisa, that would be wonderful wouldn’t it? Although I think our “old normal” needed some adjustments, we’ll never be the same again. We’ll be better!

  15. When we move on May 1, I’ll be a lot closer and if needed, can be there in a couple of hours instead of a full day. Thanks for the support!

  16. That’s so true! When my sister told me he was coughing… yeah, my head went there. I’ll be taking my son to the university hospital next Tuesday for a liver biopsy and I’m really feeling nervous. I worked there for nearly 17 years and know how seriously they’re taking this, but still have that tiny dose of fear.

  17. Thank you so much Dulcie. I think he’s good for the time being. But the day is coming when he won’t be. I know that, but I’m not ready for it!

  18. Thanks Ellen!

  19. Thanks Sherry. You too!

  20. Thanks for the support, Lynden. It means a lot.

  21. Take care, Jan. Good to hear that your father is out of the hospital.
